I'm Ordering A 2009 GS450h
I'm the guy that wondered if I should replace my 2007 LS460 with a GS hybrid. The majority of you on this forum recommended not doing it. Yesterday (April 18), I was near the dealer so I decided to test drive a GS hybrid--just to rule it out, you understand. LOL And I loved it! It really scampers. The hybrid technology is fun, and the CVT is too. Of course the comfort aspect is down, but not nearly as much as I had anticipated; I can live with the difference and with the smaller trunk.
So I decided to special order a 2009. I know it will come in late, probably November, but--hey--I have my LS460 to keep me company until then.
I have some questions: 1) What was the first year for the GS450h, 2007? 2) Are there any significant changes anticipated for the 2009 model? 3) How do you open the trunk from outside the car? 4) I want the Active Power Stabilizer Suspension System, but I see it requires run flat tires, which I do not want. If I replace the runflats with non runflats, does TPMS still work? Should I do this at the dealership or after purchase at a tire dealer? I would have to get a doughnut; it would have to go in the trunk, right?
Thank you all for your help. I look forward to it in the coming months.

08 is a facelift already, no one knows but i don't think there will be differnce
there is a "felt" button right where you lift up the trunk. as long as you have the key with you, it will open. works the same as ls460
if you want handling, imho you MUST get APSSS. however, if you don't, then it's your call
yes you can replace them with non-runflat. you can try to see if they can throw in a donut spare free for you, but you will have to put it in trunk. someone please correct me though, i thought all gs450h comes with runflats coz' it can't fit a donut spare?
forgot when gs450h came out, i believe it was 2007. 2006 was only gs300 and gs430 iirc

07 was the first model year of the 450h.

Just a few years late...but
I have the active suspension kit and it takes up the room where the spare tire well is. And yes, I have a 2007 model and it was indeed the first year for the GS 450H
