Looking to tap power, passenger floorboard area...

Anyone have schematics of best power options for this location? Need switched power, could be close to the center console, prefer right side footwell.

Any schematics or pics before I start pulling panels?

(Cigarette lighter) is switched, easy accessed.
Can easily run to passenger footwell, where My Vaistech I-pod is or center console.
Eric, is that you?

T'is I.

Yes, was thinking of tapping the lower lighter socket, just not 100% sure what sensors, if any are below the carpet and how easy it is accessed. Need to tap wires, not lighter socket itself. Thanks!

Lift up and take off the boot for gear shift and the entire socket and seat heater board pops out for easy access for the wires. This is how you remove radio and nav units. This part is a snap..
how's the 997 i-pod coming along?
PM me for further info, if necessary!!
Here is additional link:Hope it works

You DO NOT have to remove shift knob.

Holy smokes, THAT is some diagram work.

I was thinking about tapping the FLOOR lighter socket instead though.

AAH!! NEVER MIND!
Seriously, what are you powering?
I Don't know an easy way to get to the lower one!

V-1. Doing it tonight, I think. We will probably tap lower power rather than do that entire console.

Very easy to tap into sun roof motor circuit. That is where my passport was easily wired!! small length of wire to mount unit up top, either next to or under mirror!!

Plug Guy 12-12-06 06:28 PM

Thanks Larry.....we're doing it tomorrow instead, upper power off sunroof/mirror area. Unit is already in, I prefer it right of rearview mirror.

:)

After tapping into wire if sunroof doesn't operate correctly, you may have to reinitialize by opening and closing a few times. I thought I screwed something up and had to call service just to find out.

Tapped it from above, inside the lighting module. Took 10 minutes. Done. Perfect.

Now if we can eliminate the light surging problem that crept up at the beginning, we should be ok.

One other thing I noticed tonight driving it...while braking, it pulls left. Hmmm.
