Default Electric only mode

Has anyone got the electric only mode to work in the 400h, I'm assuming if the prius can do it as in the below link that the rx400h should do it too.

Post yes but... not rh400 H

Hey, I looked into that also (Ì'm looking for a 400H), from what I read on forums, the RX400H is not possible. It has something to do with the ECU and it's capabilities. IOW, it is not EV capable due to the ECU not being programmed with such a feature that can be either a) overidden, or b) modified in some way to take advantage of.

RX4oo 4 NOT EV Capable.

Cheers,

No.

Coastal's unit is simply a switch. The Prius has that feature everywhere else except in NA. However, our Priuses do come with the program in the computer so all that's needed is a switch to tap into that program and that's what Coastal is accomplishing (of course, the other route is to buy the OEM button).

The RX has no such program in its software.
