My question to this group is what is the benefit of switching to HV while highway driving? I 100% of the time leave my car in EV and if I am driving long enough (which often I am only going short distances) it will switch once the EV charge is consumed. Thanks for letting me know why switching to HV is a good practice.
I don't know this to be the correct answer, but since I got my NX 450H+ Luxury, I have always left the charger in the wall when its not in use.

We’ve had the car since July so we’re not experts but we use EV all the time driving around town and try and keep it charged to the max that the system will allow (i.e.80 or 90%?). We rarely drive more than the 30 to 38 miles that the battery will show as the range depending on whether. Now that it’s colder and we have the seat heaters and steering wheel heater on we’re getting closer to 27 to 30 miles range showing. But during warmer weather it’s usually about 38 miles.
I do try and drive in HV mode or engine charging mode periodically as I want to make sure the fluids run through the engine and we’re using fuel because driving all the time in EV has really meant almost 0 combustion engine usage unless we manually select it.
Since July, we’ve only used about a half tank of gas this entire time. And again, that’s because I manually select the charge mode or HV mode when it really isn’t necessary. I will say, though that the four-cylinder is a bit disappointing in my eyes, especially for a Lexus. It’s noisy and a bit rough in my opinion. Other than that, I love driving the car EV mode.
I saw that Bmw’s new IX3 is going to have up to 400 mile range. I currently have a combustion X3 and thought I would buy it off lease, but I am curious to see the new IX3.
We bought the ChargePoint flex charger and use the 240 charging. When we bought our house there was a 240 line already run to the garage so we bought the plug-in version not the hardwired version. It’s been working fine and charges the battery from zero range to max range in about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, however, I think there’s something wrong with my particular ChargePoint flex unit as I cannot get it to connect to Wi-Fi. I have called customer service a few times and they couldn’t get it working either. I’m pretty tech savvy so I believe I may just have a faulty unit hoping to get it replaced at some point in the not too distant future. It does work fine as far as charging the car though. I’m not sure if this is what you were asking, but we do leave the ChargePoint unit plugged into the wall all the time and just coil the charging cable around the unit as it has a nice set up for that. It also has a nice swivel head to hold the charging connector so it fits snuggly, and we never have to worry about it falling out
I do have a bit of anxiety about the 12 V battery, but so far it has not been an issue – I hope I didn’t just jinx myself 😊 but I don’t have a trickle charger or anything special set up other than a jump box that I keep charged up in the trunk. Hoping I never have to use it but never really worried about that in any other car before. I really do like the plug-in hybrid set up a lot more than I thought I would! Hope that helps!

A few weeks later follow up. I love this NX...I'm getting the hang of when to use HV or EV. Have not used Auto or EV charge. Nothing negative. No complaints other than the way the cruise control is set up...but not a big deal.
You'll adapt to the new habits. I recommend that you choose the ECO position on the lower dial, otherwise, you can just let the car decide what mode to be in. There are way too many other adjustments that can be made and the manual can guide you, but not very well. I saved a list of questions in my first month and called my dealer's Tech specialist to sort them out.
If my wife drives the car into the garage forward, we charge with the 110-volt charger. If she (or I) back it in, we use the Tesla charger with an adapter.
I never sit in the car adjusting things without turning on the power and showing the READY light. This prevents running down the 12-volt battery, with which so far, I have had NO problems.

Some of us would pick up a dryer adaptor to convert the 120 to 240 on Amazon.
With this adaptor you can charge twice as fast which for us is plenty fast enough.
