If there are 2 you need to replace both. Use something to hold it up when changing them or it will fall down. Lots of youtube videos on how to change these. All are about the same, just find a Toyota/Lexus video. Or search a busier model forum, such as the ES350.

OEM is expensive, there may be aftermarket ones available. However I looked at lift support depot and they only had hood supports, no trunk.

I believe there is only one from what I have seen on the parts diagram it is a single strut but you have to remove the trunk lining to access it. I have been thinking about it since my trunk slams shut pretty hard.

I think you would have to know (i.e: do your own measuring) the compressed and extended length of your strut, then find another the same lengths. I suspect some other vehicle one would fit, but knowing the measurements are key.
I also looked at RockAuto and did not see any aftermarket trunk struts.

Yeah when I had my VW Jetta it was super easy to find a trunk strut and to replace it with one I got cheap on Amazon, but I have yet to find a part number for this one

That’s big price tag for a trunk lift.. 😂😂
Though I’m wondering if it would lift the trunk once unlocked with a new strut?
If I still have to lift the trunk myself I don’t think it’s worth the replacement.

the other measure to know is trunk lid weight - even if a LS460 strut for example worked length wise, it would likely be too strong given the LS trunk lid is much bigger than the HS. and that's even assuming the lifting mechanism is similar (how far it attaches from the pivot point). Probably too many variables to just buy one and hope it works, unless you had access to several and could take the ones that didn't work back. And then how much is your time worth doing all the trial and error? Just doesn't seem worth the hassle to save a few bucks over getting the right part first time.

hhong92 - You will always have to lift the trunk. There is no motor to assist. The strut is only a small assist to counter the weight. Even when new you have to lift the trunk!

Hi, I am looking into this now for my 2012.

The part numbers appear to be:

• With rear spoiler on trunk:
  • LEFT 64540-75050 -> 64540-75051
  • RIGHT 64530-75050 -> 64530-75051
• Without the spoiler (less weight on trunk lid)
  • LEFT 64540-75060
  • RIGHT 64530-75060

At 9:43 you can see the layout of these struts within the body.
At 13:53 you can see the upward-force behaviour with the fully-functional gas charges. Raised to a certain mid-way point, the lid will raise itself the rest of the way.

I've ordered the pair of "with-spoiler" parts from Amayama in Japan and that's where I learned (they contacted me after my order) that the "0" parts were obsoleted and replaced with the "1" parts.

dougaliscious, that is my video. The part numbers I give you supersede all previous part numbers. Lexus no longer givers a different part number for a spoiler and one without a spoiler.

Does anybody have any experience with the little rubber trunk lid cushions, part numbers 69478-75010, 69478-75020 and 69478-75030? In the Japanese parts diagram, these are shown with the marking "810" on them, with part -20 being described as "810 minus" and -30 described as "810 plus".
My trunk lid slams a little harshly, so I pulled these two bumpers out today to inspect, and then screwed them back in and backed out a tiny bit to raise the bumpers. The trunk closes with a nicer sound now.
I guess my question is, if I bought the "plus" part, would that stand a bit taller when screwed fully down? (or maybe "plus" means harder rubber?)
