Need driver side mirror cover

I was backing out of a friend's garage and hit the beam. The shell of the driver side mirror is cracked. Instead of ordering whole new assembly for $300+, some online sites do list the outer cover for about $100. But all the sites I visited have the color (beige) discontinued. All other colors are still available. Part number is 8794A53410E4. I need help to locate the item and if anyone has the diagram how to take it apart. Thank you.

I would try eBay and junkyards for a used mirror assembly. Try this large Lexus recycler http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/

Have you tried lexus south atlanta parts? https://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.com/

You never said what color your car was.

I am sure they are available because body shops can get such parts. If nothing else works, go to a local auto body shop.

Hi, I was wondering if you found. Im also looking for the same part in grey.

Thanks Clutchless for your recommendation. The color I am looking for is beige and so far no luck. I may just need to replace the whole assembly. Anyone has instruction how to do it myself?

For Remimn, look at this link for other colors: https://parts.lexusofwestkendall.com...utside-mirrors

I would search youtube for Toyota (or Lexus) replace side (or rear) view mirror or maybe repair mirror as Toyotas will be the same as Lexus. More likely to find a Toyota video.

Remimn, I called some Nor Cal dealers that they had to call So Cal dealers/warehouse to verify the part. They came back to me because Lexus stopped selling this vehicle, no shell (outside cover) or mirror assembly are available at any dealer. Do you mind sharing the info of the dealer where you ordered it from? I was able to pop the mirror to reach all screws to remove the shell. So it's doable and easy.

How did you proceed to remove the mirror? did you pull from the bottom like most lexus?

Heres the delaership info: https://www.lexusgabrielbrossard.com/fr/index

Follow the beginning of this youtube to remove it. It took me less than 10 minutes to do it. I called another So Cal dealer and they said it shows it's still available in their inventory database but refused to pick up the phone to call the warehouse. Often the on-hand quantity is not accurate but he won't do it. I will place the order online to see if they can get it or not.

Here is my update. I ordered a white one since beige is no longer being produced. A local body shop guy painted it for me and I was able to swap out the old one with the new one in 30 minutes. Very easy task. Remimn how did your go?

Mine was very bad.... when I opened the cover, all the frame inside of the actuator was rusted and some part of it was cracked. Need to replace it... cheapest actuator sub i found was 250$... dont feel like dishing that much for such a small part. will wait to see if there are salvage parts...

liweil 01-26-19 01:05 PM

Sorry to hear that. My local body shop called salvage lots and the quote he got was higher than new one. That's why I decided to just replace the outside casing. Yours must be leaking. My LED turn signal has a tiny crack that I had to tape it over from letting water going in.

Don't bet on finding a cheap salvage part. I do not believe you will find many in the junk yard. Good luck.

Try this site for any used parts

I am an auto adjuster for twenty five years now and used parts are typically about a third of the cost of new.
If it is a painted part like a mirror you can possibly locate one in the same color and small parts like that can be sent UPS relatively cheaply so you can order from anywhere. Paint match may be iffy though due to oxidation, etc. You might still need paint.
Also, often new OEM parts are no longer available in color after first couple of years though the manufacturer might still show them on a parts list. So really almost always a body part requires paint.
Keep in mind if a body shop orders the part for you they will mark it up 25% or even more.
Find a shop agreeable to install a mirror or whatever your dealing with and bring the part. Money saved.
The best site that gives a full listing of parts nationwide and you can sort to your area or by lowest price etc is:
Car-part. com
I will always call and verify the part is "insurance quality" so no damage. If it is a painted part you can verify color and condition.
Remember these are salvage yards so try to negotiate the price as most will.
Just some insight for y'all .
