Replacing Heated seat module control

So I am thinking about replacing the heated seat control switch on my 2010 HS250. The Passenger seat work fine, the driver seat power button used to light up last winter on certain spots on the 0-3 number dial which leads me to believe there is a problem with the consistency of the dial button and not the actual heated seat. Last Winter both seats heated up just fine.

My question is, has anyone replaced this control switch before and which part of the console do I remove 1st to get to the switch?

Thanks

Does it cool? Did you check the fuse, in case they have separate fuses.

I think it may pry up, but you should have the trim tools to protect your finish. Harbor Freight sells them. Look at this to see if it helps

And if it was a fuse problem would there be a fuse for each seat because again my passenger seats hear works fine. Where is the fuse box located ?

heated seat update

Awesome info! Thank you.

update : so my driver side heat started working yesterday out of nowhere, but the power light was very dim & after about five minutes I started smelling something burning. I attempted to turn the dial to the off switch and it wouldn't shut off so I had to turn the car off and then turn it back on while it was in the off position. This tells me it's not a fuse issue and it must be with the actual switch. My game plan is to buy a used switch and try replacing it. Hopefully I will get to this in the next three or four weeks. After that I will be sure to update

Removing heated seat switch/module

Update:

I could not find anything on removing console parts in the Lexus hs250. So I made a video of how easy it is to pry it off.

you may not be able to see the oil-like substance leaking from the driver side switch once I remove the module. It's apparent that some kind of burning/melting has happened. I will buy a used switch to replace it at a low cost.

Oops. Forgot to post that one.

Here's the console removal for next time.

Nice video by the way. And if there is a next time, maybe get yourself those plastic interior panel pry tools because the first scratch from using a metal pry tool gives you a sick feeling in your stomach. Don't ask me how I know !!!

Fixed!

bought replacement on ebay for $80 and switched out in under 1 minute. Seats are back to working condition.

the dealership sells this part brand new at $400ea! Installation is another $230! I was quoted at the dealership for this to be fixed at $630! I saved myself $550!

Great job figuring this out and doing it yourself!

Mine wasn't working so I took the switch all apart and cleaned the contacts inside. Apparently the previous owner spilled coffee into the switch. Been working perfectly ever since.
