Mirror LED upgrade done right. Finally !!
After searching for the correct bulb to upgrade the door mirror puddle lamps to LED's, I finally found some that work great, and are much better than original. I'd guess they are at least 10 times as bright and a much nicer white color over the yellow, dim factory 194 bulb.
The problem with the this upgrade was that there wasn't enough room in the lens to replace the original 194 peanut bulb with any LED that had any brightness. All the LED's were way too big to fit into the lens encloser. Until now. I found some in Japan made special for the job, but I didn't buy them because they cost WAY too much.
I found these at VLEDS.com and the part number is 194_4_hpf_w_5k .
The next picture is the factory bulb, and then the new LED bulb.
The fourth picture is showing how much light the factory bulb puts out as compared to the last picture which is the new LED bulb. Like I said, maybe 10x the light.

Very nice!
So $15 gets you the pair, enough for a set of mirrors?
What other LEDing got you the best reward?
I've always thought those mirror lights were a tad weak, didn't really help much.

I got it here:

If you look at some of the photos, you'll see our dome light.
I did the same thing to the trunk and it's way brighter. That factory trunk light is a joke.

Once you figure out how to get the mirror apart, it's easy. I'd say it took me less than a minute to do the other door once I figured it out. Just be sure and protect the door paint with a rag.
I think I might have a .pdf file on how to do it I'll try and post later.

It's not the .pdf on mirror removal, but it's a good tutorial from some time back:

The mirror lights are now at least 10x as bright. A great improvement. Another good one is the interior light in center of the headliner LED upgrade. It's real bright.

I'd love to brighten up the trunk, the light in there is horrible.

Awesome! When you pry the mirror out, do you push upwards for it to pop?
I have a bunch of T10 LEDs laying around which need to find a new home any ways.
how it wouldn't take too long to do.

Your LED bulbs might not work. They'll light, they just won't fit. They will most probably be too long. That was the problem all along with this mod. Not enough space to replace the factory peanut bulb.
This mod requires focused light to point down. You might find a LED that will fit, but it won't be brighter than the factory bulb. Until I tried the ones listed above.
But at least you'll get some experience on taking your mirrors apart as you try different bulbs !!!
