2011 HS A Rare Bird?
Japan has just restarted production of the Lexus HS again after the horrific tsunami and constant earthquakes. Not to mention severe problems with their nuclear power plants. A horde of new cars has been totally destroyed in seconds in northeastern Japan, probably a huge number heading to all corners of the world. Some of them may well be 2011 HS's.
Because of the near absence (from what I can tell) of 2011 HS's in dealer showrooms, how many of them are safely stored here in the US? My local dealer brought in only 25 new CT's for its inauguration (actually two shipments of 20 and 5) a seemingly small number. So then, how many HS's are here if any?
Assuming that the even newer 2012 HS will come out by year's end......will the '11's total sales be somewhat depressed? The introduction of the '12's may be pushed back but at what price? Another beating in sales by other car manufacturers? Americans seems to want the latest and greatest, and pushing back deadlines on new products is not good business strategy in my mind. Especially in America.
With that said will the 2011 HS250h be destined to become a rarity of sorts? Okay not rare but small in production numbers.
