The pop-up NAV screens are just so "after thought" kind of looking to me. I know it's sometimes not easy to design a static screen into a dash when you have to squeeze so much, but the "pop" goes the weazle look is just... ugh.
Makes me always think they drew in the dash, then realized "oh crap, forgot to put in the NAV."

ha ha.Why deal with the glare, etc. if you're not using the nav? I think having it disappear when you're not using it is good ergonomics, aesthetically pleasing and much easier on the eyes.
But that's just me.
Same idea goes with the SC430...
