Definitely the best looking full hybrid car that I have seen so far. I'm really feeling this thing.
|
Now stuck....its really getting some good reviews. I was expecting the press to pan the crap out of it. Seems we are its harshest critics.
|

Full HS Test from Edmunds.
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...hotopanel..1.* Main complaint was CVT noise, but overall it was very positive! |
It doesn't hurt that the car's electric power-steering mechanism has been finessed beyond the company's earlier attempts. The initial transition off-center is still a touch digital in the way the assistance steps in, and the effort level feels a tad artificial, but few drivers would complain about the way the steering actually directs the car. Path control is pretty surgical for a 3,700-pound luxo-hybrid lined with leather and packed with every gadget known to man. Even our test track specialists came back impressed. |
Yes, I'm pleasantly surprised at the positive reviews of the HS. Seems like once you get past the take-it-leave-it looks (it's kinda growing on me, kinda...) there is an interesting and capable car underneath---for its mission it seems to deliver. I'd like to test this car out myself.

Why does this thing remind me of the Corolla. I'd say save the money and get a Corolla XRS, @ the same performance #'s and @ same EPA fuel econo. gets 30MPG http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....llaxrs_opt.jpg

The Corolla XRS meets a different demographic. The HS250h is targeted towards a totally different audience as well. It's all about need and preference. |
Yea, ya I know. I don't dislike the HS250 but too pricey for what your getting. At least the IS-F is worth every penny. The HS250 price will never justify the savings of the Corolla, compaired to gas pricing over the life of a loan. I'm just not seeing the target market yet.
Its kinda like saying " I don't care how much I pay for a car, as long as I save money at the pump" I see Hybird drivers as being confuised about what they want. IMO... |
looks like an LS460 and a Corolla had a child.

As for the reviews I'm honestly a bit staggered that they are positive as they have been. I continue to doubt that it's my type of car but I continue to look forward to one landing at the local dealer to check it out. |

This car is intriguing to me, because it is a new formula for a luxury vehicle, hybrid vehicle. It definitely is different from the other Lexus lineup vehicles, and i want to see the vehicle in person and test drive it. Also wonder why there are no seatback pockets (because of the room or ecoplastics?). As a daily driver this car has potential IMO, only if they improved the looks somewhat, but for many buyers I suspect the vehicle will appear fine. |
