Toyota confirms Prius-based Lexus hybrid for Europe for 2010 (Page 5)
So there has been rumors about a entry level Lexus hybrid, some say it will be based on a prius, BUT i feel i stumbled on what the car will be. This is pure speculation and not based on any facts on inside words.
In japan toyota has a car based on the Yaris but bigger and better. Its the Toyota Blade. With luxurious trimming, good looks and a decent power train , the top of line model the toyota blade master even has the same 2gr-fe engine found in the ES300 delivering aprox. 275 hp. The interior of the car has wads of L-finesse design elements with power to match. This car can be easily re-bagged a Lexus as well as dropping a hybrid being dropped in it. Its a fast luxurious hatch back that Lexus could easily sell in Europe and Asia, even the US now that gas prices have made car buyers moving away from large trucks.
This is a hatch id def look into buying if it was available. Just my 2 cents
heres a few pics

Yea it definatly makes business sense for Lexus. My reasoning why they should go wtih the Blade? To compete with the likes of the r32, s3, and the 135 in Europe where lexus doesn't do very well. In Europe, lexus has very small market share. This could be a high volume selling car .They need to be able to compete and if priced competively this car would def give them the edge.
