Default will these lights fit?

Hello everyone!

I’m looking for some expertise on a pair of tail lights I’m thinking about buying from Yahoo Japan. Before anyone asks why I’m buying from Japan. I really love the unique mods and parts that come from there! I won’t get into how much they cost or the shipping fees from Japan to the States what I really need to know is whether these will fit my 2011 Lexus HS250h. In the seller’s description it says they are for the late model HS250h (ANF10) and lists Toyota genuine LED tail lights (LH, 81561-75100). I’ve attached some photos please take a look and let me know if you think I should pull the trigger. Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you all!

They look like the same shape as the original tail lights, at least the inner ones on the trunk lid do. I doubt they changed the body, probably just the light design. Toyota-Lexus likes to do that.
My 2016 3rd gen Sienna which was made from 2010-2019 had 3 or more tail light revisions. All were the same size, just the lenses were changed. So they should fit. I hope the wiring connections are the same.....
How much?

A few years ago I paid almost $600 just to buy replacement inner (trunk lid) lights because most of the LEDs had burnt out on mine.

Hi, if the Japanese seller says they fit the "late model" then that means the revision 2 car that was sold in Japan between 2013 and 2017.
Good luck, I hope the tail lamps fit!

Looking at the wiring diagram for the Japanese model... I think you've got two pairs of connectors to worry about:
  • "Tail Lamp" and "Backup Lamp" - which are the inner two lamp assemblies on the trunk lid. Which use connectors L25 and L26.
  • "Combination Lamp" - which incorporate tail lamps, stop lamps, amber turn signal lamps, and use connectors L16 and L17.
    • Turn signals use incandescent bulbs
    • Tail lamps use LED bulbs
    • Stop lamps use LED bulbs
    • Backup lamps use incandescent bulbs
I don't see any variations between the model years noted on the wiring diagram - that would suggest no difference between the Japanese first edition and the Japanese second edition, but doesn't say anything about the American model you have.

Here are the connector shapes. It says they should be milky white nylon in colour...

The usage of the terminals is:
L16 / L17
  1. Green wire to stop lamps.
  2. Dark red wire to tail lamps.
  3. Turn signal wire (yellow on the left, and green on the right)
  4. White/Black, to ground.
L25 / L26
  1. Dark red wire to tail lamps.
  2. Red wire, to backup lamps.
  3. White/Black, to ground.

So I'd say, take apart your trunk carpet and see if those connectors look the same as the diagrams here. If the wire colors are also the same, then everything is probably 100% compatible. If the wire colors are different, inspect each connection so that you join them up correctly. Also, I don't know if it will work correctly if you change the use of an LED lamp to incandescent or vice versa. Because incandescent lamps provide their own resistance, and LEDs need a resistor in series to work safely. I don't know whether the resistor is just part of the bulb or if it would be placed elsewhere in the wiring.

I periodically visit Russian-language forums, and these guys replaced the taillights and said they installed them without any problems. They also replaced the entire front end, but that requires a lot of redoing...

Thanks to everyone who shared the info. I’m gonna give it a shot. The price is still up in the air since I’m trying to snag them through an auction, plus those juicy tariffs I’ll probably have to deal with. Still, I think it’s worth it. I’ve never seen an HS in LA running these tail lights, so fingers crossed the bid goes through. I’ll post pics once I have them. Thanks again!

Hey, thanks for the comment. To be totally honest, each tail light is starting at around $128. On top of that, I’m getting them through an auction, so the price could end up going higher. For some reason, no one sells them as a full set. They are all sold individually. That means I have to buy from four different sellers, all with different prices. Shipping will depend on the size and weight, so overall I’m definitely going to be spending a pretty penny on these tail lights. And of course, there are the good old tariffs waiting to hit me too. It’s something I’ll deal with though. I’m going all in.

Default Hs250h alterna- tail lights

Customizing this car is well worth it! Example : I do Uber with it in chicago and ppl always ask "what the hell is this thing?!" , and that's always a good thing 😆 🤣
