Rack & Pinon mounting bushings
The rack & pinion housing mounting bushings are gone on my 1992 SC400. Does anyone know someone who can replace the bushings in Hawaii other than Servco. They want $3000 to replace all steering components. They won't do bushings only! Car has 158,000 miles on it!

You can buy aftermarket replacement bushings from companies like Daizen and change it yourself. They only cost around $50 I think. If you search the forums alot of people have done this iinstead of replacing the whole rack.

I already have the bushings and tried to replace them myself. However, I am 6'4" &
220# AND 74 yrs old, my hands are too big, (I can palm a basketball). Thats why I need someone to help with this. Servco Lexus would be happy to do it for $3300. I need someone local who would be willing to do it for a little less than #3300!
