Friday has arrived (cue Friday 13th music)

Allen, very Nice house! Plenty of room for a couple more kidlets

Heat index was 110 yesterday. Power cutoff in the hood for about 3 hours late afternoon. temp went from 70 to 76 in the house in that timeframe

Time for that backup generator

Yeah we've got 3 plans for the house this year - basement, solar, and generator. Just this year we've seen the power go out in the new city 3 times because of bad storms.

And I have never understood why our power grids, especially residential, have not improved very well over so many decades, to include that's one of the most unsecure areas of our infrastructure

Yeah, since our community is newer, all the utilities are underground, but a lot of the surrounding areas are rural farmland so they're all above ground and we're all connected

Allen, do you have fiberoptics to the home for internet? We do and we LOVE it.

Nope, our only option is Comcast. It's not so bad because they are offering the gigabit internet, but I'd prefer to be on FiOS

I think gigabit would have to be over fiber

Very handsome little house. That in the Bay Area and the plot iof land it's on, easily $1.5M-2M.

Garage in the back or detached?

Yes, easily that. Easily 1.2M in most parts of SoCal.
