Default Prado Tail Light Swap question

Hi all,

I just picked up a pair of Prado tails at my local flea market.I have been reading all the threads over regarding what needs to be done to get them in.After one test fitting I was only able to get the turns to work.No luck yet on the brake and lights on just yet.
My two questions are:

Is it necessary to order the 3rd bottom socket or can the lights work off of only the top two sockets?

Is the wiring pin mod to the passenger side the only step that needs to be done if the bottom socket is not used?

Thanks in advance!

I got the stops to work on top and the turns to work in the middle. But no luck getting the lights to come on when headlights are on. I did the 2 wire swap on the pass side but no change. No sure what I am missing here...

I had done the same....and the brake light bulb holder require at the base a little bit of shaving, and that is when the contact is made to the base when fitted. Simple.

Thanks for the reply!
I trimmed the notch to install the turn signal in the center spot. So do I have it in the wrong spot? Should I keep the set up as stock?

All the bulbs location remain same, if you have the similar set up of OEM 2008 and above then the bulbs require Amber ones as that is clear on the outside of the Tail Lamp Covers. Maybe you could post a image of which type you are having.
