I'm not sure if that trim piece exists for the 460 since they all come with rails. You might need to pick up that trim piece for 470 and see if it can be made to work with the 460.
Or just take off the rails, and reinstall the bolts with lots of weatherproofing on the threads. I used windshield sealant in my case. It's not like the roof is highly visible to require any finishing plastic pieces.
Love that color! Did the rail delete on my ole 2005 4Runner as well, love that look.
The roof rails are so pointless, I'm amazed they even still install them at the factory and don't option them out as an upcharge. The vast majority of owners will never put anything on the roof.
Now you got me thinking about doing the delete on my GX.... hmmm
Alright, so started to do the rail delete on my 2020 GX. Didn't realize that I needed to get additional molding for in between these caps that are being added. How crucial is this molding? I ordered similar molding to what is noted a couple posts up. Just trying to understand if it is really to prevent any water from getting in this channel at all? Or as long as I put silicone around the bolts of the brackets, should be ok?
The moulding is just for looks in my opinion. Should be ok with just some silicone.
Thanks for the feedback. I was pretty liberal with the silicone, so hopefully it will be all good.
Finally got the molding and added it to finish off the mod. I'm really happy with it, especially considering I'd never use those rails (I have my 4runner with anything for that). Wife wanted a more luxury look, and I feel this mod is great as it seems to sit the body downwards a bit on the 22s. Thanks for the info above to get this mod done.
