I'm pretty sure internally it is different with more reinforcements for tire mount. I'll see if I can find a Prado with one opened up so we can look at the internals.

A GX 470 specific thread but food for thought

accgarage.com is coming out with a bolt on for GX 470. One may want to request model for GX 460 if interested.

What kind of volume are you looking at in gallons or liters?
Since the stock GX460 is 23 gallons (87 liters), how much over stock are you thinking it will be?
How do you plan on performing the fuel transfer to the primary tank? I'm guessing that it will be an all included kit?
Also, I assume it will not hang low enough to compromise departure angle.

I'm excited for it! Bring it on!

I assume similar fuel transfer setup as the stock Prados.

From Ward:

"Estimate 24 gallons in new aux tank.
Complete kit.
Departure angle should not be impacted."

Hmm, and it's shipping out from Stockton, CA too. Maybe have someone pick it up?

Default Prado 150 sub-tank

Hi Folks,
my first post here. I just inherited my father's GX460 2011 which I have alreaedy added a dobinsons MRR lift, ride is way better than the stock airbag suspension, and some 17's on method beadgrips. Added a front and rear bashplate.

Now one of the issues with travelling in the sands of the Middle East is that we need extra fuel, and carrying it always make me nervous and by the time you find a way to mount it, the costs added up.

So I live in Dubai, and we have the luxury of Prado 150 series being sold here along with the GX460. So I have found a scrap yard that will sell me a silver rear door from a prado with tyre carrier, and a factory prado 150 series sub-tank for USD651.00

That does not include any piping for filler, EVAP, and siphon to the main tank, which is not an issue as we have good toyota parts distribution here in Dubai.

The following previous conversations discussed this on this 2 links,https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...uel-tank.html# https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...uel-tank.html# but did not get to the nitty gritty of adding the tank, I might just have an internal or external pump fill the main tank to keep things simple and cheap. Just use the subtank to carry fuel.

My concern is KDSS in the rear, will it foul with the placement of subtank?
