Quote: So since its just the handle portion and not the other small piece pricing on Leuxspartsnow.com is around $95. I'll check the junkyard network but the odds of having a 10-13 in my color that is relatively close is pretty slim. Certainly hoping to stay below $200 if I paid someone to do it.

Jaleels, by special torx screw do you mean a non standard sized one, or just torx in general?
Just the standard T30 torx screw.

Door Handle Button not locking after lock actuator replacement
After replacing the lock actuators in both front doors on my 2014 CT200h everything worked fine EXCEPT for the lock buttons on the door handles. I tried all of the suggestions I found online but nothing worked.

The solution was simple. I disconnected the negative battery cable for 30 seconds and reconnected it. I guess that reset the locking mechanism because now everything works perfectly.

Cracked door handles alternate replacement part
I need to replace my door handles. I have seen that the chrome portion of the handle cracking is pretty common on older models.

The direct oem replacement part has the chrome in the middle.

Can I replace them with these all black ones instead?

Will they still work with the keyless entry touch?

Thank you.

The one you have pictured does not appear to have the smart sensors. Sensors are built into the front of the handle, you will notice there should be a square looking harness connector right behind the rounded hinge.

Thank you for the response hzhao. I couldn't tell from the picture.
Do you happen to know if there is another option besides the chrome oem? Is there another black one maybe I did not see? A different part number? Maybe from another model year?

You maybe able to use or search ones for Toyota 4Runner with same or closer model year. I believe they are the same in size but without the chrome accent. I don’t have the part number and just make sure the list or seller specified for front door and with sensor.

that was a great recommendation. So far I was able to find these door handle caps that cover the existing handle but have a cut out for the contact point. This should be good. Im curious how it would look. Only one way to find out I guess. If I order I will update. Thanks again.

Out of curiosity, is there any board members that have tried this? If not I will gladly be the first and report back my results with pictures if any one else is interested.

I think these are the parts you'd need to remove the chrome and retain the smart key functionality. Looked at your other thread and it looks like your GX is black (202), so these should be the correct colour:

69210-60150-C0 - Handle, Front Door (Qty: 2)
69250-60030-C0 - Handle Cover, Front Door RH
69217-60150-C0 - Handle Cover, Front Door LH
69211-60090-C0 - Handle, Rear Door (Qty: 2)
69250-60010-C0 - Handle Cover, Rear Door (Qty: 2)

Thank you Jeff. I'm looking into it. They seem like what I am looking for. But I can't confirm from the pictures anything about the touch pad for the keyless entry. I'll do some more research.

They will include the correct touch sensors for the smart key system.

Quick update for anyone else that's interested, I ordered 1 set of the handle and cover for the passenger side rear door that Jeff recommended. I can now confirm this part number matches perfect and looks way better than the factory chrome handle/cover.
I wish I could say the install was a breeze, but I had some trouble. Specifically putting that panel back on. That gave me a really hard time. The clips at the window line are tricky. Also the handle cover has a very flimsy tab, so once it's in, if you have to take it back off to fix or adjust something, there is a good chance of breaking that tab. Lastly there is a small plastic weather seal that holds a screw on the outside of the door, that can be a bit of a pain. It can probably be done in 30-45 mins. But it took me a lot longer than that.

No pictures because I just did this last night. But I'll try to get some up soon. I plan on doing the other rear doors. I will hold off on the front because they are more expensive and money is tight right now.

Thank you Jeff!

Did your remove the top weather stripping piece off door panel after removing? This makes putting the door panel back on pretty easy. You put that removed piece back on door and then panel snaps to it.

Post #59 and then there is a video a few posts later
