Default Can I lock fob in car?

Hi , all.... Did a quick search, but only found 1 post somewhat related.
If I wanted to have the dealer lock my fob in the vehicle, and pick it up later with the other fob, is there any way they can do that?

I saw one potential option of leaving the liftglass up and then locking it and tossing it in, but am not home to try it right now.

Appreciate any input!

i can lock my fob in. It disables the auto open function so you need to use the unlock button or key to enter.

Yes. I have successfully locked my wife's fob in the GX - and so did the dealer. I found out the sensor that detects the fob has a VERY short range. So, for example, if you leave your fob in a bag, purse, etc. in the back seat you can exit the car and lock it with your fob from the outside.

As far as the sensor it is the same one that detects the key for the push button start. Periodically if I have my fob in my backpack on the passenger seat the push button won't detect the key so I need to move the pack or take out the fob to get it closer to the sensor.

Sorry I may not have been very clear.
My goal is to leave the car for service, and then have them lock the key in the car.
They would not have the second fob which it sounds like is the solution above? Or were you using the buttons on the door somehow?

I would actually have the other fob with me for pickup a couple days later.

Thanks for the ideas/suggestions!

Yes you can. You can test it yourself.
Lower the windows (just in case or have someone sit inside the car), put the keyfob inside the car and manually lock the door via the door lock switch then close the door. Then open it with the other keyfob or the physical key. If it works, tell the dealer to do the same.

This one just did the loud beep and then unlocked again.

I think I'll just have them lock it in the fuel filler door.
Seems to be far enough from the proximity sensor and should work fine.

Thanks again, all

Tested, touching the handle with the fob in fuel door will not unlock the GX.

Thanks for that diagram, Tecman!
Didn't get a manual with my CPO and need to go pull one down.
