Wow on pricing...

at that price why would a new 4R Limited even be on someone's shopping list?

I know... heck even though $13k more than I paid for my '12 in early '17... I might have gone that route for an '18 if I was in the market today

Sales tax would play a role as here in WA state base sales tax rates on vehicle purchases can be in the 10-11% range. Possibly higher in metro areas.

We don't have a state income tax in WA state.

EDIT: You can't get around it buying out of state either. State will charge you at registration time based on vehicle value.

Great deal!
I just leased one for 50k with 58k msrp as well. But if you were to purchase one, you get an additional $4000 in lexus cash plus there are several incentives such as grads and military which all can be added both lease and purchase.

great time to buy a GX460!

as far as luxury models goes, i believe not all the incentives applies to it. And only the premium models received the price cut.

This month Lexus cash went upto 4K and the deal is pretty much a invoice minus holdback minus finance reserve minus the Lexus cash. Looked at leasing it but the buyout at end was 34800. Didn’t see the point when I can buy it now for this price and then sell it later for a profit.

Agreed. I did look at the 4Runner and passed on it luckily since it had no BSM and RCTA. Thank God I got this one for cheaper.

Financing is always going to be the best way to save money if you are planning on keeping the car. But if you look at the total cost, meaning buying the car after leasing vs financing, it is about the same. You would save roughly about $2000 if you were to finance the car in this case. But personally, I feel that you have more options with lease. You could still sell the vehicle on a lease as I have on my last lease, made about $3000 on my 2015 Sienna lease. And you would need to wait about 3 year to make actual profit of the car, depending on how you financed the car.

Leases that are not aggressive will leave you with money to be made towards the tail end of the lease. When you look at a very aggressive program as such on the GX, the residuals are typically inflated to yield an attractive payment. Therefore, it’ll never make sense to buy your lease out at the end as you can get a similar car for a better price elsewhere.

In my case, Lexus doesn’t offer the 4K (Lexus cash) if I were to lease it and therefore it makes no sense to lease it as the residual is set at 34800 three years from now and I can buy the truck for 45k now. I am planning on keeping the truck long term and it makes no sense to lease and then buy later.

That is an amazingly good deal. We bought ours at the end of March and it was about $10k more. If that deal exists in CA I would probably sell the 08 and buy another 18.

exactly,

i see you are from Texas, which has crappy lease rate since you have to pay for the entire tax of the evhicle for lease. Here in CA you only pay whatever you are paying. Leasing makes no sense in states like TX.
