Default Buying 2015 GX460, need your advise.

Hi, folks. I am brand new here and from Canada. I am thinking to buy an used gx460. My local dealer has a 2015 gx460 Base, Navgation pakage, 82000km, $46000 cad($34600 usd). I think I can bargain $1000-3000. My concern is the mileage. What do you folks think? This is close to 100k km, is it worth to buy it? Is any maintenance in near future? Thank you very much.

In March 2018, I bought my 2015 GX 460 base with navigation, 32.5K miles for $36K U.S. in California. It's a certified pre-owned (CPO) full bumper warranty (for car under 50K mile) for six years, 2015 to 2021, with 4 free services (2 minors and 2 majors for the next 2 years). The Toyota dealership did major services at 30K miles, also installed new brakes and tires. Different market.

Your potential car has 100K Km, that's about 62K miles - almost double my miles, averaged about 20K miles a year is not bad, but not a small number. I think it's a little high mileage for only 2.5 years. How many owners? Purchased or lease return . Of dealer owned or lease return, ask dealer for the full service records and Carfax for any accidents, damages. I think it's a fair price but you're in Canada, tend to be more expensive - what's your out of the door price will be? Negotiate that minus $1K-3K is not unreasonable. Make sure they have done a full major service at 60K miles, I think. The Toyota/Lexus V8 is very reliable. Check on all the basic consumables: all the fluids and brakes. You can also check with the GXOR Off-Road, largest GX Facebook group. That's on top of my head right now... Good luck.

Thanks goodtogo. Really helpful. That car is 2015 gx460 premium actually. I never owned a Toyota/Lexus product. I thought to buy a Acura MDX 2017/2018, but 9 speed transmission just freaked me out. . Rx350 is good, but my family size needs a 7 seats; I won’t buy buy a bmw, Benz or Audi. So I believe gx460 is a good choice.

Premium has more bells and whistles with different off-road options/functions, drivers assist sensors, and camera, and maybe airbag suspension in rear I think. In that case, the asking price for the Premium is not bad at all - just the mileage is a high: your negotiating factor. Use Truecar, bluebook, or similar websites to estimate Dealer's price with all your options and mileage. GX 460 is the only true luxury capable off-road SUV out there, basically a luxury body and comfort box over a 5th generation 4Runner chassis but with V8 (4Runnerbonlybhas V6 nowadays). All the suspension parts and upgrades are interchangeable with the current 4Runner - both are super reliable and reasonable to maintain. Your choice with the GX is the best, the others are notbody over frame/chassis true SUV. Just watch all the YouTube videos - bery capable. In Asia and Australia, the cousin version is called the Toyota Landcruiser 150 Prado - world renounced overlander, Off-Roader, and overlander and they don't have V8. Trust me, you will not be disappointed,. I love mine. Don't forget to check out GXOR OFF-ROAD Facebook group. An awesome GX community, example: Nevada GX owners setup an off-road ventures today since I'm visiting from California! Good luck and hope you get a good deal on a great engineering transport!

Sorry for the bad syntax grammars above: cell phone typing! Best of luck!; GX FOR LIFE! I'm coming from owning a V8 4Runner for 11 years - GX is 10 times better. It is that amazing of a vehicle to me. I've already lifted and modified my rig for off-road ventures, still so comfortable and powerful. You only live once.

Thanks, love driving it. Forgot about your 7-seat requirement. The third row is tight and best for small children and/or short trips. You should try it out, not easy to get in/out.
Thiss is after a long day of off-roading the mountains in NV. today -Very capable workhorse!

Check CarGurus website also for listings, not sure you have it in Canada.

I'm also in BC Canada so to give you some reference, I bought a 2014 premium model with about 91km's for $38K before taxes. This was back in Feb/March of this year.
I dont know if you have kids in car seats and what not but I do have some opinions/observations regarding the car now that I have had it for a few months.
If you have any questions, message me as I went through the same process just recently.

Hi, dmasuda. I do have 2 kids, 4 and 9. Really appreciate if you can share your gx460 experience to me. There are couple of gx460 in Vancouver now, i am waiting my vacation next month, then I am going to there to have a look.
