i like the v8 in the 460, you wont like it at first but you will get used to of it. The 460 v8 is little more faster more makes more noise but it pulls. Yes you will miss the silky smooth ride of the 430; i think that was best car lexus ever made.

I had an NX300 loaner with 400 miles on it the other day, great car but the 4cylinder engine was a complete deal breaker. I still hear that god-awful moan in my head, and there was noticeable turbo lag.

I'm an LS driver and wouldn't buy the new one if in the market bc there's no V8. I would settle for the cleanest '17 I could find, and even that V8 isn't as good as the one in my now old AF LS430.

I've sampled the LS460, by no means was I criticizing- the 4.6 is for sure faster once you wind it out, but actually feels a little weaker down low (the torque peak is above 4k). It's also just not buttery and not as smooth and quiet as the old 4.3. Also 8 gears is too much. But it's still a great engine, a dying breed, don't get me wrong 380hp, but the best was the old 4.3- I've always felt that way.

And I would agree with your last statement. I just had it serviced and not one not two but THREE of the service advisors have LS430s. I mean we're talking about minimum 13 year old cars now. Dealer tried to buy it from me, again. I chatted with her for 10 mins about our 430s, she said handily it's the best Lexus ever built. But I pretty much knew that lol.

In my opinion, more car manufactor's are going with the smaller motors and turbo. It's more efficient to meet EPA standards but the only downfall is longevity. One of the reasons I purchased my GX460 this weekend was because of the V8. Yes it takes more gas, Yes it's heavier. But i know the reliability will be there after 200k miles. I cannot say the same with force induction motors as I have owned two turbo subaru's in the past. More power yes, more maintenance and issues yes.
