Indeed. With 040, 070 to be the priority project, research the cameras wiring and front and side views, and try for radar cruise control and pre-crash....... My major concern is if I still be able to put the GX back together after all

Further researching on the dynamic guide lines, it is provided from Park Assist ECU. For US, there are only two versions of Park Assist ECUs available, one is for vehicle with Premier Sound and other for vehicle without. Another interesting thing I found in Techstream, there is a section "Parking assist guidance/Parking asset monitor" section, when I select it, it indicates "ECU not responding, or your vehicle is not support it". I am pretty sure this is where to enable/disable the guidance line. However, it has been "flagged" as unavailable by the system. Since the ECU has two version for different head units, my suspicious is the "flag" is set by head unit within the service menu. Because different head unit do have slightly different configuration on connection and possible output of triggering signals. The current fixed blue lines on back camera could be built into the camera firmware, that is why you have several versions of back cameras available and most of them described as "back camera w/ guideline".

Rear camera grid lines 2010-13?
I know the 2014 GX has grid lines added to the rear camera, Is there a way to add or enable the gridlines on 2010-13 Gx’s? Is it a simple software update or download from a dealer or are the gridlines part of the newer LenseUPDATE- Completed grid line addition see last post for details.

I believe the fixed guide line (Green and red) were build into the camera. The dynamic guide line (Lexus called Parking Assist Monitor) is part of Driver Support Package, which is generated with Park Assist ECU.

That sounds about right. My next question would be if a camera lense used/new from 2014+ could be swapped out without disruption of any other components of my 2011 rear camera system. I have a narrow driveway and without grids the camera although good to watch for kids, bikes etc, doesn’t guide you very well. I’m 48 years old and have backed up without anything for decades but If I have an existing camera, why not have it useful. Most Hyundai’s have grids, I just don’t understand.

You may need to be the tester on this. Difficult to confirm with certainty since no one has previously swapped camera...or reported how it went
You might want to confirm with a cheap used one...personally I’d look for one that maybe had slight cosmetic damage to get even cheaper. If it doesn’t work you aren’t out much.

Good to know... if that is the case then definitely a non-starter. I've seen some cameras with embedded lines so hard to assume sometimes.

Ok, well that stinks. I wonder if it’s the ECU could it be a simple factory download similar to an updated Navigation map

Your probably right. I love my GX460, I’m just not sure Lexus gives it the love we do. Just seems all the other models get the cool new stuff first.

Any audio/video techies out there that can make this happen? Can’t be impossible
