Has anyone heard of any issues with brakes if you don’t bleed the system? I feel like that is more of a time issue than a miles issue. The other factor is, should this be done when you do your brakes? Maybe at 60k and 120k depending on how long they last you?
To be fair, this the brakes we are talking about - they are one of the few parts of a car that I'm willing to let the dealer work on. I just did my 90K service on my 13 GX, it was $254 to have the brakes done. Worth it in my option. I did everything else on that needed to be done.
If your vehicle is pre abs, old fashioned brake bleeding is fine. Anything with ABS, stay away from bleeding old fashioned method. You need to cycle ABS pump or else you will be in some deep....
I buy all my parts from Lexus/Toyota dealer (ull be surprised how many 4Runner parts fit the GX) and let a local mechanic put it on for me for 75$ a repair. Simple and easy and he gives me the old parts back.

Out of curiosity, what did that include? Fluid and pads? Rotors?

Hmmm did realize it would be damaging ABS. Now I think about it, there’s potential there.
It just left, the Broomrider is dropping it off and picking up a loaner (since we are a 1-car family).
{OK, it's a slight stretch of the truth because I drive a work truck.}
I'll report back the ridiculous amount they charge for the few items I marked as "Dealer".
It is back. They had it for only 1 full day while BroomRider drove an ES350 for a day. $134.xx for everything on my list marked as "Dealer" and they filled the tank!
I ordered a K&N reusable filter, so that I will do along with the rest.
