Some feedback on the Metaltech items on a GX 470 from Andrew St.Pierre White

Start at 5:00

There is another video in this series that the small strut broke. Not sure if they still use that piece.

His truck looked very cool in person (before the front bumper replacement). I wish I had room in my van to pick up the BFG he had forsale when I purchased the tonneau cover from him.
I can't imagine driving with that as a DD. All the noises are probably driving me nuts LOL.

I bet there is a lot of wind noise going down the highway/freeway with all of that.

Maybe some reasonably priced electronic noise cancellation systems will start appearing on the market?

Are you going to get one? I really want to see one in person, I feel like it bulges out too much on the sides and I don't want to be grabbing branches and crap on the trails with the rear bumper. I'm really wanting a full size tire carrier so this is still a very good option right now.

I met him late last year before he put the front bumper in when I came down from San Jose. He also had some 18" BFGoodRich KO2 forsale as well at the time.

As much as I'd like to try this I don't think the wife is quite ready... I'll be lucky if I don't brick something trying to get crawl control working :-)

Will my headlight washers still work with that bumper? :-) :-)

Be cool to see his rig now in person all modded out, looks like he is one of the few that actually uses it too!

Very temping especially with the 20% off but yes I agree, It's kinda bulky and that's the main reason I haven't pulled the trigger. From what I was reading, 5th gen 4runner bumpers may work on 2015-2018 GX460. Not too many options out their for these years.

That's funny you mention that, I was checking out a 4runner the other day without its rear bumper on and thinking the same thing. I've thought about reaching out to a vendor to see if we could work out a deal on a test fit in case it doesn't work, but probably just more headache than its worth.

Default Wow

It's good to see the GX getting so much attention. Given the price point for the 10-13 it will be interesting to see if more people are willing to jump on.

I think the train has already left the station in that regard. Remember... years back people used to call the GX 470 a mall crawler... look at off-road support today
