Default GX 460 Purchase Structural Damage

Hi all,

I am looking for a CPO GX 460. I Found one luxury package and driver assistance package but after checking carfax it had front structural damage that was repaired. Should I walk away from this deal? I know since unibody design a lot counts as structural (at least I think this is true). Is this a definite no go or ok because CPO?

Thanks

Maybe I misinterpreted this but the GX is body on frame. Structural damage could be a minor fender bender.

Yes sorry I completely confused myself between cars. I asked they said it was a fender bender where bumper cracked. Since it needed to be completely replaced NY says its structural. Does this make sense?

As tecman said, GX is body on frame structured SUV. And it should be easy to identify what has been repaired or replaced by examining the under the hood with a knowledge individual and/or mechanic. Being CPO, I would say it should be OK and for the minimum that all the repairs had been done properly.

I would want it inspected independent of the dealer from a certified collision shop/other dealer who has an onsite shop or recommended shop, CPO doesnt mean anything. Its just an impressive piece of marketing lingo to help you forget the fact that its a used car from a used car dealership from a used car salesman similar to pay here buy here lots.

Get the service records to see what work possibly got done, and be critical of everything (dont take the dealers word for its a minor thing). Make sure TSB/Recalls are up to date.

I know it sounds out there, but its important
