Is the dealer offering any extended warranty? It maybe a good idea to ask for one. Besides that at less than 30k miles, there's not much to check since you're probably still under the 4 yr/50,000 mi basic, or6 yr/70,000 mi powertrain warranty.
But if you do test drive, check for coolant leaks, oil leaks, check under oil cap, KDSS suspension, especially the rear shocks to see if there are leaks. Make sure 4-lo button works as well as center diff lock.

Protection plan is $2800, 5yr/75K miles with $100 deductable. 75K miles are on top of current odometer reading.

If any, what kind of price negotiations to expect if I decide to go after a L-certified?

Is this a Lexus dealer?

L-Certified will ADD more $$$$ since they include another 2 years unlimited miles warranty - up to 6 years from the date of first service and unlimited miles (I like this the most), and many other goodies. ONLY you can decide if the cost of L-Certified is worth the price it commands.

I would start at 10% off the asking price and work up from there.

yep, that's what I also saw. Very unusual for brake rotor to be out of spec with only 8xxx miles. I'm willing to bet that the aggressive driving style and aftermarket wheels / tire will cause the rotor to go bad

I agree with the issues being caused by aftermarket 20" wheels. Probably not hub centric, may have been bent and will definitely ride rough.
Try it with the stock 18"s and see how she rides.
Good luck!

Thank you. On a $40K vehicle is it reasonable to ask for $4K discount?

Offer $34,500 Cash and tell them they don't have to fill up the tank. LOL

Here's the deal... you start at $X which is $4K below asking. They think they can get you up $3K.
If you offer $Y which is $5.5K below asking, and they talk you up $3K, you're at $2.5K below asking instead of $1K below asking.
Even if you let them talk you up $3.5K, you're still $2K below asking which puts you a full $1,000 ahead of the game.

Take an alternate listing in as a bargaining chip.

If you win out, split the difference with me and send me $500!

LOL. Term "cash" turns them off. This is what I have noticed. They prefer buyers to finance through their in-house lender and pay interest.

that is so true, dealers nowaday prefer you to finance rather than paying with cash. From my experience, I get better deal if I were to tell them that I will finance the car rather than paying cash

I think you can be even more aggressive. Test drive it and note all the problems and bad characteristics of the car. Definitely push it to 40-60 and see how it feels.

Default Best Place to purchase extended warranty

Hi, looking into getting an 2014 LS 460 AWD. Where is the best place to purchase an extended warranty? Any Lexus dealers that sell them at a big discount?

I was guided towards Assurant by someone I know.

TIA

you should search the forum for extended warranty instead of posting in a non-related thread. Anyway, here's the info you're looking for:
