go appraise your used gxs please and see for yourself.
its a very tough market to sell an suv for your asking price and it can take months.

Whoever sold their gx here please comment. I was expecting to sell mine for mid 40's. Didnt get that. Craig can chime in. Dont buy a gx for its resale value. Its an suv, and by that, they lose 50% in 5 years give or take.

I dont believe in the hype that lexus has better resale value. Compare a 2005 g35x, 2005 acura TL, and 2005 is350 and see if there is much price difference. I couldnt see much at all

here are some gx going for 20;s - mid 30's on ebay.
Yes, and you're the one who bragged about selling yours in 4 days, hold on to it a little longer and get more.

This is kinda like dealer bid-ask spread from finance: you will always have higher prices if you want to buy the vehicle, than if you want to sell it. The third party in transaction (dealer) will want to make money. A lot of people won't sell their vehicles directly (don't want to wait, or whatever) so most of these vehicles you see are off of dealer lots.

But even with that GXs are holding their value better than any other similarly sized SUVs. I am curious: where are you seeing these "fully loaded" GXs in mid-30s? That is essentially my price range, and when I looked up on autotrader or cars.com I am only getting to base trim levels with 60K already on them. Ebay....I am not sure, and haven't looked. Don't know if I would be comfortable buying it off of ebay.

I have no reason to speak "for" Lexus/GX. I, being a potential buyer, am only stating facts as I see them. They are too painfully costly to buy 2nd hand.

Seeing that the vehicle was originally over $60,000...I consider the fact that it only lost $20k value in 4 years to be excellent resale.

3 year residual on my GS is 60%, which is excellent, that is $36,000. Thats forecasting a loss of $24,000 in 3 years. If you sold your 4 year old GX for any price with a 4 in front of it, you did GREAT. Hell, if you got 35k for it you did very well...thats 58% after 4 years. Excellent.

All new vehicles loose a ton of value. Just the way it is.

I concur with the great resale value for the GX comparing to other SUV in the market. My '08 ML320 diesel fetched $14K and I paid $57 for it new.

Just a compiled video comparison. Did I leave any trucks/SUV out that anyone wants to add?

Thanks for all great vidoes! for me LR4 and ML350 are competitors to GX460, same price range, luxury brand etc.

Lightbulb 2015 GX Muddy Off Road Review

Pretty good review, but I would like to see a reviewer challenge the GX a little more.

Bigger hills, deeper mud (upgrade the tires) and turning off all technology options for comparison.

Great find! I had no idea the luxury had so many buttons a bit overwhelming.

Thanks for finding this!

All had did was ride around in mud and go up and down a hill. Would have liked to have seen real off road conditions. He made a big deal of the one item my luxury edition does not have - the up and down hill assist. This is a rare add on around here.

No mention of the 4 wheel drive diff lock (did he use it?). Also, how does he switch to 4 WD low without putting the vehicle in neutral?

Just throw it away at that point. They'll never get that mud off.
