What's happening when car is in D and going backward?
When slowly going over a bump and the car goes back or when pressing on gas when the car is slowly going uphill, I hear this sound and the traction light turned on. What exactly is happening? Would pressing more on the gas to go cause any damages? Or you would brake before pressing on the gas again?
Many thanks in advance.

THANK YOU for this post! I have experienced the same situation and was wondering about it. The wife (it's her ride) was complaining to me, "I've never heard that noise when I drive".
My scenario was pulling into the garage. I do so very slowly and often times the vehicle doesn't have enough momentum to have the rear tires make it over the garage floor "step" (from the driveway to the garage). So when the rear tires hit the bump, the SUV rolls backwards a little bit. It is like the stability control is going crazy for a few seconds and it makes a lot of noise.
