Im in the market for a SUV and i know that lexus is going to be releasing their 2018 line soon. Should I wait for that 2018 brand spankin new car or just get it now as a 2017.

2018's are already out--starting to show up at dealers now. Might get a good deal on a 2017 which is pretty much identical to 2018. Only VERY minor updates to the backup camera screen and probably a handful of other tiny details. Same truck really.

It's the same question I had before I pulled the trigger to get a 2017 GX Premium with Sport Design Package. Since 2018 is almost identical to 2017, and Lexus currently gives $4,000 cash rebate for 2017 model; special deals on GX460 are unusual. It's also the largest discount Lexus ever gave out for GX. I think it's the best time to get 2017 model. It's very limited stock available right now. I am lucky that I got the color combo and trim that I want. Also I got a very good deal for it. I don't think you can find any 2017 Premium w/ Sport Design Package left here in SoCal.
That's my 2 cents,

How is your timetable for needing/purchasing the car?

My advice is usually its a two tier price drop.

Summer deals then December to remember for the mass folks and biggest selection

The once in a century deals are right before Q1 of the following year (Just for ref sakes for giggles i emailed a dealer who had a 16 premium in stock with sticker of $59k 11 miles on the clock offer 48+ tax on the first email so more was there to be had)

The earlier of course is the better as selection is better, so if you want a special combo then get to it. If not, wait the course and you`ll get it.

Now for reference sakes, someone from Cali posted they just got after all incentives a 59 truck for 49+ tax sooo.... I`d say try and replicate that deal.

Search around, and fYI the poster who got the deal i mentioned made a new thread with said info. Quite informative

Sometimes some dealers list the premium under the base designation with premium pack i dont know why.

Best way to be informed is always as for the V-Spec. Build Code, features etc with vin is listed.

Hi all, new to the club but owned a few lexus before and now I just got a 2017 GX460 Premium since Sunday.

Here is the deal I got:
58k sticker
36m/10k lease
$580/month includes 9.25% Los Angeles Tax with nothing out of pocket drive off just (sign and drive and it was $10 cheaper but the credit score was a second tier)
I am not sure if I got a very good deal because it was the last GX460 Premium with the color i prefer in my area and didn't want to drive too far. Anyways, I am satisfied with the ride and smoothness of the car.
BTW, there was at least 5 more people check out my GX460 while I was working on numbers and paperwork but all other salespersons said it is sold. So I know this car is very popular.

Can you post your negotiated price?

Even at sticker its a damn good monthly if you paid zero at signing, with taxes rolled in.

i will check the sales contract when i get home tonight.

10K a year? A lot of my friends do because our commute is only 5-10 miles to work and kid's school but we will spend 45 mins to an hour while sitting in traffic. Also most of us do have more than one car to drive around....
