Default Map Light to LED

Can someone help me understand why I cannot pull the map light bulb out of the front overhead console. They are pretty deep in there and seem to be surrounded by a silicon board and possibly held in by two black prongs on each side. I tried pulling, prying, tongs, etc and feel like I am going to break the housing or crush the bulb. Anyone have insight on this? Are the rear 2 dome lights similar to this setup as I didn't even get that far.

Wrap a piece of tape around the bulb and pull it out. It also helps if you put on some thin rubber gloves to get more grip but the tape should do.

For some reason those bulbs are the most difficult to pull out. I experienced the same along with others here. Follow the advice given here and you should be good. I think you will find the other bulbs will remove with less effort.

My biggest challenge was waiting to for bulbs to cool so I didn't' burn my fingers... I know.. I should have probably pulled the fuse :-)
