••Do not utilize your VIN when searching out this mod on parts sites as you may receive the incorrect part.

•••••If you have trouble... this quote from Coinball may help.

"To get the VSC light to go away (in lieu of making another video), you need to press the Crawl Control on/off button BEFORE clicking the final Exit button in the ABS test. You'll get the warning the CC isn't available unless you're in P or D and 4L (on the cluster display), and you'll be good to go from there."

FAQ for adding Crawl Control and MTS (last updated 2.25.2019)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
• MTS and/or Crawl can be added to any model year or trim GX 460

• MTS can be installed by itself - plug and play module swap

• Crawl can be installed by itself - in addition to console switch you need to do a zero point calibration

• Crawl and MTS can obviously be installed together as well.

• MTS is NOT included with US 460's optioned with Crawl Control but Canadian top tier models include MTS with their Crawl optioned models

• If you don't have adaptive suspension (AVS) or rear air bags AHC on your 460 you will end up with two dummy switches. Here is an option that Nickk6 did on his. (Post #623)

• Land Cruiser and LX 570 didn't get 5 speed crawl control capability like this mod until 2013 model year. It was previously 3 speed only.

• "VSC Off" light activation during Crawl or MTS activation after installation is normal with use

Do not utilize your VIN when searching out this mod as you may receive the incorrect part.

Crawl control can be used on both up and downhill right? Is DAC for downhill only? I’m curious how steep is the downhill angle it needs to be? A readon for me to head to the local road park (Hollister Hills) and try. Lol

Personally, I would consider adding a rear locker before adding CRAWL.

bbqsoup: Correct DAC is downhill only. It should take much downhill angle to be live.

Surfishing: I hear ya on the CRAWL... if it was just the BCM and the panel and cost less than $500 I might be game but one would probably be in a couple thousand as a guinea pig... just throwing the idea out there for some young lad to try out in the next few years who pieces it together with parts from wrecks.

Notice one probably needs this "Driver Support Switch Control ECU". I think I saw one within the last few months for like $30 as a used part on eBay.

ObsidianBl posted some good info from that Russian thread.

Not seeing BCM or master cylinder listed to make it go live. All speculation but potentially obtainable for less than $600 retail.

I'm gathering from translation that anyone who has Park Assist has the following support module behind the glove box.

---> 859A1-60010

Multi-terrain select and crawl need module 859A1-60020

Switch assembly with Crawl ON/OFF button and speed control to replace DAC button is ---> 84970-60070

If I understood this correctly, there is pre-wired harnesses already for the crawl and speed control switches, as well as the connectors for 859A1-60020 (assume that will accommodate additional connectors for crawl control), right? For those who had remove the console switch panel for other mods, maybe able to chime in to see if there has additional harness existed. That would be interesting if it can be added easily.

It would appear so. The console switch is a big question though.

Pictures of a non-AVS/airbag switch (84970-60100) / Trying to track down pics of switches to see if connector is the same for all models.

Some of this has probably been stated in other threads. Obviously just more information gathering. Most vehicles I have seen seem to have the full array of Driver Support options if equipped.

It is worth noting the following variations from the 2010 & 2011 model year brochures:

2012 shows this

2013 shows this:

Here is an interesting note in 2011 brochure

Wide view monitor, Crawl Control and Intuitive Parking Assist could be purchased as a standalone option. Is this a unicorn? Maybe..but it seems like similar feature-set to what the Russian thread was talking about.

Here is my real conspiracy theory stretch.... Is there already a support switch module in dash next to my glove box since I have Intuitive Parking Assist? and the other features go live if devices are connected? Could it just be the console switch I am missing? Nothing could be that simple.

Notice in the 4Runner conversion article:

http://tctmagazine.net/spring-2016/2...ntrol-retrofit

Much of the work done in that conversion occurred because he didn't have the physical MTS switch. This MTS (multi-terrain select) selection & display is all done on the center gauge display on the GX. It is just display on the 4Runner.

It may be more plug and play on the GX than implementation on 4Runner.

Just throwing ideas out there

You could be right. I guess the easiest way to know is the see how the connectors behind console with panel between with or without crawl control. If there is a reasonable priced switch panel available, and existing wire harnesses seems fit, I will definitely try to see what happens.
