Pretty stoked right now!!! The MTS piece hasn't been proven yet but as-is getting CC on a GX should be $250-$300 or a lucky find in a junk yard. There is a used $200 unit on one of those wrecking yards I previously posted.

I'm curious if this mod can be literally done on any non-CC GX 460? Might start seeing a lot more 4 switch GXs out there that don't actually have Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and Rear Adjustable Height Control (RAHC).

I'm quiet interested to see how this performs, might hold me over until I can dish out some coin for lockers.

It would definitely compliment any capability including lockers

Hopefully as plug and play for everyone else. This can be done without Techstream but I used TS in this instance. The calibration instructions earlier in thread allow you to utilize a shorting of two connectors on the OBD port.

This was cheapest place I found for console switch

https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dl...?q=84970-60070

They always have a 10% coupon up there it seems. Out the door including the shipping it was $272.14 for this console switch PN: 84970-60070

There is always a chance one could make their own custom switches a well. Some on linked Prado RU forums had done that.

If you were closer, I'd definitely get you some beer and dungeness crabs just to check it out LOL.
So these parts that need?

Yeah.... those are the parts. I'm fairly confident on the Driving Support Computer for MTS but still need to prove on that one. The 020 model is also only for the '10-'13. There is a different model for the '14+. There are a number of model numbers. That being said they should all be using the same Console Switch.

So switching out the DSC under the dash/glovebox is fairly simple?
I can't wait to see you test this in some real terrains.

Btw, how did you get the Japan site to ship to US? Just input the US address and it will calculate the shipping fee? Looks like the price is $137 now.

I haven't gotten to the full step of removing the glove box but I think I was only a couple bolts from pulling out glove box piece while I was trying to take pictures of the DSC wiring the other day. I'll note more on this as I swap this unit out for the MTS test. This may be sooner than later. :-)

I told Japan site to ship the cheapest and they came back with Japan Parcel Post IIRC... it was under $7 to ship to me in WA state. It came in to LA and then was transferred to USPS. The console switch will arrive USPS as well.

If one just wanted CC this mod could be reverted back to stock fairly quickly if one desired. Put back in stock switch and re-run the calibration routine for DAC detection.

A few notes on the console switch replacement

• I found easier to remove the side padded trim along side the side of the console. This may not be needed but found it easier in reinstalling the entire console of the tecman video
• Used a bungee cord to hold up the console so I didn't have to completely disconnect everything on the center console area. The forward area of the console area is also held in by clips so you can pull toward you and tip up further.
• Connector on console switch easily releases
• The two items that connect to the bottom of the console switch/ one it's own wire connector and not sure offhand what the other box is for / these will release if you use some long needle nose pliers. This will become evidient when you are down there disconnecting the stock switch.
• Console switch is held in by 4 screws. I found getting the rear inner screw in easier by taking a piece of black electrical tape and taping to end of screw driver. That is probably the hardest area to get screw in. Ironically though it has an extra tab that supports console switch in this area so it might not be necessary to put this screw in . It felt fairly solid with the three. I got the 4th screw back in with tape tip though.

Excellent Job! Well Done. With all the hard work and inside, certainly will make all of us interested to do the same mod much easier. Now its the time to get the proper parts before Toyota ran out of stocks

I was getting email updates throughout the afternoon. Part 1/2 is complete. Congrats on the success!

Do you know if the two suspension switches can be removed or modified to work with something else? It doesn’t look like it since it’s all one control board and one connector.
