It is not hard to do at all, just a few bolts, some panel removal tools and watch a few video. You can probably find some local GX owner to lend a hand with some beer and bbq ribs LOL.

It is easy to do. Acrad has done a fantastic job by putting all the information together. Anyone with basic handy skill and automotive knowledge should be able to follow the process. As far as independent service place, as long as they have the necessary tools, include Toyota Techstream Software, should have no problem to do so. The hardest part is to find source of the parts, it has been long waiting back orders based on experiences form many members here.

You're right. I didn't think I hit 25mph but did drove it straight for a few hundred feet/yards and the wheels came back.

Hang in there. Just take your time. I had the same anxieties about messing things up with these mods.

A few pics hoping they help. Just take your time. Take a picture of what you’re removing so you know how they can be put back together.

Anyone know where is the current best place to buy the console switch 60070? I tried to purchase from CarMarka but have not heard from them yet.

PLAN "B" - ELockers, Rear (Front too if you want)

I am truly in awe of a GX owner willing to do what needs to be done to add the uprated features under discussion here. As a low-skill owner much of what is required to make these mods is beyond my abilities I am also computer-averse and try to keep things simple when I can.

My preferred solution to upgrading our Base 2013 GX 460 is a low-tech, somewhat old school solution - a Harrop/Eaton ELocker. No ECM mods, no major dash disassembly and only one 12 volt power lead required. Total cost under $2,000 including shop install (rear axle only).

Yes, an apples/oranges comparison as the high tech, computer-driven systems using ABS will do more. Not necessarily better, just different. And, yes, my firm is importer/distributor of Harrops via Terrain Tamer, but there is a simple plug and play solution that addresses the need for on-demand traction.

Does anyone knows the latest software version for Techstream and a link to purchase it and the connector?

Both eBay and Amazon have few listed. As far as the version concern, most of listed versions will do the job. Most of revisions are for the purpose of covering newer model years of vehicles. Version 10 or above should cover vehicles to current model years.

Looks like production is starting to ramp up on he 070 and 040.

Matt@oemvehicleparts says average source time in the last 60 days has been 14.25 business days and the last 30 days quicker at 12 days to fill for the 040 and 070s have been filling in 7 business days.

Pretty quiet from Carmarka still. I guess the inventory hasn’t been pushed their way...
