On-line Parts Experience / Discount Code
I am shopping for 4 GX460 Fspt Wheels (PTR56-60120) and the installation kit (PTR-27-60120) and did an extensive search for price and customer experience and this is what i learned.
- Many (but not all) appear to be genuine lexus dealers with "on-line" store fronts - Emailed 1 and was told to expect a 24 hr response. Its been 48 hours and no response. - Attempted to speak with customer service at 1 site. So far keep getting the answering machine. - club lexus has a discount code that works on 2 or 3 websites - it is CL5 - Many sites offer "discounts" off of MSRP. Some give you the CL5 10% discount off of their already discounted prices, and yield a total 20 - 30% discount. Note: 10% off of MSRP is not a good price, at least for my wheels. - Some charge shipping, some do not, and some offer free returns with others having restocking fees. - Finally, I found 1 dealer with these wheels at a very low price, who accepts club lexus discount on top. I am just confirming center caps and everything is included. I located many more sites than what is listed below.... mylparts.com newoemparts.com (note.... telephone number is same as mylparts and price is much lower) oemlexusparts.com (lexus of nashville when parts arrived) lexuspartsnow.com newoemparts.com discountpartsmonster.com ebay |
And the dealer with the lowest price was???
|
I am still in the process, but here is what I learned today.
mylparts.com and newoemparts.com are run by the same lexus dealer - Lexus of Roseville. The Fsport wheels and other items were considerably cheaper on newoemparts.com vs mylparts.com, and other parts websites. Here is the irony... Roseville informed me they actually run not 2, but 4 separate lexus parts websites under different domain names. They did not provide me the other 2 domains. Here is where it gets fishy... I located the best price on newoemparts.com, plugged in the club lexus discount for an additional 10% discount and arrived at the lowest price - however, the dealer would not honor the discounted price and they stated if I submitted it through this website they would reject the order on the basis that "certain products have lower margin and it is at their discretion whether to accept or cancel an order" and he stated he was letting me know on the phone, they would cancel my order as they are not in the business of "losing money" and Fsport wheels have low margin to start. Great customer service here. There were other comments from the Parts dept. employee that did not make sense to me where he talked about inventory carrying costs, and so on. Without the club lexus discount, there were also cheaper/better options with better return policy than anything lexus of roseville had to offer. So in the end, saving $100 was not worth it to me to do business like this. Went with oemlexusparts.com for a smooth transaction and much lower than retail. |

Will let you know how this turns out in next few days but my view that if a price seems too good, then it probably is, proved out in this case. I'll be careful what I say, but Lexus of Roseville may not be the most ethical dealership I know of. I'm sure they have some good people, but my sales guy, service specialist and tech specialist were nothing I'd want representing my company. |

I always had good luck with mylparts.com. They are very prompt with e-mail replies and shipping but never answers calls. They all have each of their own. Mylparts.com have great prices on maintenance items but not so great on accessories or replacement parts.

www.oemvehicleparts.com with CODE: CLUBLEXUS
gets 50% off shipping Parts sourced from JM Lexus in Margate, FL They do not charge sales tax as well. I notice discountpartsmonster.com does charge it for the state I live in. Not an actual Lexus dealer but I guess oemvehicleparts sources their Lexus parts through JM Lexus in Margate, FL. Oversized items like bumpers, fenders, panels and glass appear to be excluded - https://www.oemvehicleparts.com/policies/shipping |
Best price I've seen is $1220 shipped for the wheels, install kit, and caps. An eBay vendor had them, but are now showing to be out of stock... I'm sure they will restock soon though.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-GX460....m43663.l10137 And an even better deal when you use on of eBay's coupons that they have every month or so for $100 off... |
Hey just to update with most current info, I checked around and still www.oemvehicleparts.com the PROMO CODE: CLUBLEXUS
does still work!! I got the 50% off shipping. And the price was still the best for the RCF/GSF bushings part#

For OEM parts I usually buy from Matt @ OEM. Shipping is reasonable with code and no sale tax.

I always go with out-of-state Lexus dealerships that offer wholesale pricing, and to avoid sales tax ... with the best dealer always changing based on when ordered. While the part cost sometimes looks great, many on-line retailers bump the price back to retail level with a "handling charge" which kills any savings.
