For me, I was first attracted by the new headlight design. Now that I've driven it more, I like the ride and how responsive it can be when switched to manual. I almost always switch to manual when merging onto a freeway.

To name a few...surprisingly good HWY mileage, off-road capabilities, comfortable ride...some of the quickest heating and hottest seats I have ever had.

It has awesome storage for water bottles. We walk our dog everyday and it stores his water bottle, baby bottles and my wife's need for a gallon of water everyday ...(???) don't know why that is a real thing. In addition, the two center console holders are perfect size for wine runs...

At the end of the day, the thing I like the most is that you feel like you can go wherever you want whenever you want. Most days it just goes to the daycare but in a place with hills where ice can turn up any morning (it's may 1st and still snowing in the passes) it just really nice to know my wife is driving something that can go through a wall and come out whole on the other side.

5. Adjustable ride...Sport mode is awesome!
6. Wind noise...pretty much non-existent, so quiet.

8. Sound system
9. Cooling seats

  1. Appearance - it looks like a nice luxury off-road vehicle and not like a design trying to keep up with the latest i-Phone
  2. HWY fuel economy for the engine and weight of it
  3. Interior is very intuitive - old tech is not always bad tech
  4. Engine sound, to me, is nice and smooth
  5. Rear gate - I actually am a fan of it
  6. The interior room is quite nice
  7. The Enform Remote app - I have not had the issues others have had with this and use it more than a few times a week
There are some things I would change in a perfect world, but show me the perfect RX and I wouldn't be able to afford it.

In no particular order:

headlights (both design and light output)
sound system
driving position
off road capability
reliability

We are seriously considering a GX to replace the 15 RX over the next several months. So if I was to purchase it would be for these reasons:

- Reliability of a proven product.
- Since it will be my wifes vehicle, in bad weather I will feel secure knowing she is driving a very capable SUV.
- Driving position.
- Lexus refinement.
- Smoothness

Default 3 or more things I like about my GX

-Smooth V8, cruising along at 90 mph to Vegas without feeling any strain.
-New front end / light design. Cool and bold, much better than the derivative earlier design which we passed when we first started to think about replacing our GX470. So to all the haters of the "new" spindle grille on Lexus, we love it and voted with our money.
-Old school truck underpinning and proved offroad capability with refined on-road manners, if you like the truckiness, which I do.
-Soft semi-aniline leather with heat and cool.
-Heated steering wheel
-Air suspension
-We can hold 12(!) water bottles in the cabin.
-Just about the right size, not too small to get pushed around in traffic, and still can comfortably fit in a parking space at the Costco.
-Great Mark Levinson sound system.
-Power folding side mirrors.

Having come from an RX I would say the GX is a step up unless you are looking for the latest in tech. Neither I or my wife have regrets about letting our '12 RX go for the '17 GX. She feels more comfortable when driving it compared to the RX, the former ES, and especially the current ct200h

What I like:

1) Lexus Reliability

2) Built Like a Tank, Body on Frame, Not a Car based CUV

3) Good Value, Really Holds Resale

4) I LOVE the exterior styling

SUVs have exploded upward in price so much, the Lexus GX actually seemed like a bargain. Something like a loaded Chevy Tahoe is more money and not nearly as high quality. I came from a GX470 that I had owned for about 13 years that I really liked. I have owned 4 Lexus, just really happy with the brand overall.

What I don't like:

1) I think the ride could be a bit more plush, my GX470 had a smoother ride. The GX is a little too "jumpy" on small road imperfections for my taste.
This is a "problem" across Lexus line as they are trying to make their cars ride more like BMWs. Lexus built their company on luxurious cruisers, I think the direction they are going into will only alienate their core customers and not bring in new ones.

2) The interior has some cheap touches with the silver painted plastic. Not horrible, but Toyota needs to drop that styling element. Already mine is scratched and it's only got 1,500 miles. It simply doesn't hold up.

3) The Cargo area could be a bit bigger (but they probably want you to buy an LX for that)

4) I hate the 6 speed transmission, it always feels like it's in too high a gear. My "old" GX felt way more peppier even though it had less power.

5) rear tailgate opening
