Default POLL: What GX 460 trim do you have?

What GX 460 trim do you have?

I have often been accused of being poll happy on forums... this will likely be the last for a while....but no promises either :-)

Default Base, Premium, or Luxury

Ok, So I own a 2014 GX 460 and have for awhile now. Just saw a thread with another user not sure on his model and it brought up some old memories of when I was buying mine.

VIN decoder AND LEXUS says base, Insurance says premium, and original owner, and I say luxury.

Car has:
Mark Levinson sound
graphite wheels
power folding mirrors
navigation
heated steering wheel
entertainment package with rear dvd players
illuminated door sill
wood shifter
silver trim extending up rear window
headlight washers

Also has several other features (most of which I thought were exclusive to luxury models)

So which is it? How can Lexus and VIN decoder be wrong? Were ALL options/packages installed at port?

What do y'all think? I can supply more info and pictures if you have a better way to determine model.

Does it have the power 3rd row? It looks like a Luxury.

Then again, my '18 is a premium but my insurance says base.

You have LUXURY because of the rims...unless you changed rim after buying it.

BTW, my Lexus GX Luxury with Driver Support...AAA also tells me that i have PREMIUM.

I have a Luxury, but insurance shows Premium.... interesting that it seems a common theme.

I find it amusing that Lexus chat rep and VIN decoder said its a base. So either this was a mix-up or it had every option and package installed at port before going to the dealership.

All 10-13 460s have powered 3rd row... I know we are talking '14+ here but headlight washers on a '10-'13 are clue it is a Premium.

Your chrome trim piece on rear window was clue to me that it was a Luxury just looking at it.

ML and heated steering wheel are only on Luxury. If you have adjustable shocks and rear bags...also an indication of '14+ Luxury

Did you also run it through the Lexus vehicle build site?

Yes but nowhere does it specifically say model.

Vehicle Grade: High? What does that mean.

Not sure why they don't state Luxury trim there but you clearly have a Luxury trim. :-)

Insurance gets things wrong all the time, they have a standardized DB that might have had the option of only selecting Premium. in the 14+ if you have the power 3rd row, ML, and adjustable rear suspension, automatically you must have a Luxury.
Premium and base are hard to differentiate on the interior, but

Base: No fogs
Premium has fogs

Lexus said that my 2019 is a Base, but it most definitely has the Premium package. I think it has to do with how they code the packages as they are all tacked onto the Base vehicle. However, I have never seen this result with any other manufacturer, so who knows.

Thats a good point. Usually The GX officially comes in Base and Luxury, but you add the Premium Pack on the base to make it a Premium tier. Meh who knows lol
