Default 2010-2011 GX460 Rear Air Spring (Bouncy Ride)

I've had my 2010/2011 GX460 for about 18 months now. I first noticed this 'bouncy' issue when I drove my neighbor's big family (5 people) somewhere . I've never really had many people in the car since I don't have kids and I mainly use the vehicle for commuting to work. However, after giving the big family a couple rides to and fro, I noticed extreme bounciness (coming from the rear right side) to the ride when I pulled out for work in the morning. I actually got in the parking lot to check in case I had a flat tire. Nope.

A couple months later, I notice this bouncy ride coming and going. Sometimes there's minimum to absolutely no bounce. And then sometimes, when it's been parked for a while or after I've had more than 1 other passenger, it will suddenly have that huge rear bounce. And this bounciness is sometimes bobblehead-inducing level of bounciness; as in I'll have trouble sipping my commute coffee with this bounce.

After having my tires changed a few weeks ago (they were due for change), during alignment the car was raised in the air so I asked the tire dude if he could see what could be causing the bounce problem. He pointed out that while the left rear spring was super hard (that outer rubber shell on the spring), the one on the right had no air in it when you pressed to check. He said I needed to have it replaced.

I called my local Lexus dealer and was quoted USD$ 400 for each air spring (excluding labor!) I'm in Dubai, UAE, so even though you could expect a bit of a markup here, I wouldn't expect it to be so steep.

Anyhow, the purpose of my entire rambling is to get a basic grip on this issue and this part. Is "air spring" the correct name for when I try to find this part? I may source it online. Could it be any other issue? I've checked the 'low' 'neutral' 'high' height adjustment system and that seems to be working fine, so I don't think it's related to the compressor. I'm suspecting either the air spring or the actual sensor for the air spring that auto adjusts air. How far/close to the truth am I? Any light shed would be appreciated.

Air spring is an appropriate term but can also be referred to as an air bag or air cylinder:

Lexus Part No: 48090-60020

Here in the states, you can see it's over $400 just for the part. Hopefully it's something else but if not, this should be what you're looking for. Good luck!
