Its a base model. The sticker is in the window and the owners manual has instruction. I'm using the fob correctly but the motor will just not start at all with the fob. Even when I'm 5 feet from the vehicle!
try the pairing procedure that starts on pg15. If that doesn’t work you’ll most likely need to have it hooked up to techstream to see if the res cpu is functioning properly.
Thank you for this info and all your effort. I figured because everything else on the fob was functioning that it wasn't a "pairing" issue but I'll definitely try this to see if that possibly is the problem.
The installation instructions look pretty easy overall. I won't use this kit at home but in the winter & fall at my cabin it will be nice as vehicle is outside when I am there.
I've seen a few other posts about install and didn't gather it wasn't a problematic install.
Acrad: Do you see anything obvious with bypassing the door open shut off? When you install this you could use a voltmeter to find the trigger/disconnect.
I'll see what I can find when I install it.... this may be a month or so out... my projects are backing up. :-) Still working on surround cameras and need to install my inbound gas tank skid plate.

Operationally... not sure how easy this would be to do as I think I would have some trouble easily climbing through the window...bear with me :-)

At this point can you put car in Drive without car quitting?
Here is an install question I have on this short pin. I noticed this short pin is already installed when I checked earlier today. I guess if everything checks out at end of install I will just leave the short pin install.

I took a video but I cannot get it to upload. I can actually use remote start while sitting in the driver seat with the door closed, opening from the inside shut the truck down along with just touching the handle from the outside.
Yes touching the door handle will shut off the engine. I wish the remote works at a longer distance. I had to stand very close to get it to work. I only remote started it a few times over the winter.

A closer distance than lock/unlock function? If so, have to think of ways to amplify signal detection of remote start ECU behind glove box.

Maybe it’s my remote. My car usually parks right outside the garage door about 25-30 ft from the door. I could lock and unlock the door from that distant but had to walk out to the garage to be closer for starter to work. I will test again.
I'd have to look in FSM but I think some of the antennas related to unlock/lock are more exposed or even in the windows. This remote start module might be direct and thus shorter range.
