Default When to wax?

How much time, if any, should one wait to apply sealant and wax to a new Lexus?

Congrats on the new Lexus and welcome to CL..

On a new vehicle from the dealer there is no need to wait. Weather permitting, when I pickup a new vehicle I usually clay / wax / polish / seal within the first two days. I have done this for years..

ASAP.

And then every few months/six months/at least annually thereafter.

Use Cquartz or similiar products from Autogeeks.com that will last you up to 2 years.

I do exactly the same thing. Have been for many years. The days of paint needed to cure are long gone.

It always amazes me how much dirt transfers to the clay bar from the finish of brand new vehicle just picked up from the dealer..

Between shipment, truck delivery on the interstate, sitting on dusty lot, a lot of stuff can soak into the paint by the time you get it!

Very true, I guess my point was that most people who pick up a new car have no idea how dirty the finish really is. It may look good and feel somewhat smooth but the clay bar tells a different story...
