Hi Everyone,

I am a total newbie to the forum and Lexus. I have recently bought a Lexus GX 460 2016 base model for a growing family. The base model did not come with power folding side mirrors. I was wondering if it is possible to install power folding mirrors on the base GX 460 2016 model. If so, more information on the same would be appreciated.

It would likely be very expensive to add.

I would suspect you'd need two new mirror assemblies at a minimum, along with the switch. And then a few hundred of labor.

really? i thought i bought a base model 2016 gx as well...but mine has power folding mirrors

It does have power folding mirrors, they're just not automatic. Meaning, they don't close by themselves when ignition is turned off and open when turned on. It must be done manually.

No GX 460 has automatic power folding mirrors.

I just bought a base model. The power folding mirrors comes with the blind spot monitor option.

They sell a module online that automatically closes them when you lock the vehicle. I know this as my brother recently installed it on his 2015 Toyota Prado (same thing as a GX with a Diesel engine) and it works great.

I purchased a 2017, I guess premium package due to have fancy wheels and 3 zone climate control. It do not have powered mirrors. How a base model can have powered mirrors and mine not.? This is an option can be added on a package?
