Anyone running 265/70R17 tires?
Hi, New to forum! Just purchased a 2018 GX460 and looking to put on winter tires. Currently running stock 265/65R18 but I found a place that has a smoking deal on Michelin Latitude Xi2 Xice 2, 265/70R17.
They said that they have a rim that will fit the car, so I am just wondering if anyone has replaced their stock tires with this size before without any issues?

The tire size looks to be identical to your 265/65/18, the only diff being a bigger sidewall. Check out a site like this one to confirm size. BTW, 265/60/18 was stock tire size IIRC.

ok, so then the 265/70/17 size will be 1" taller than your current stock size. Many people on this forum have reported no issues when using 265/65/18 (same size), so you 'should be good to go', however you may want to check out this thread to make sure.

When the OP says "they" I believe he is referring to a tire shop. The tire shop is trying to sell tires that won't affect speedometer and minimally affect handling.

I think the OP clarified that he in fact has stock 265/60/18 sized tires so a 265/70/17 would be 1" bigger or same size as 265/65/18 which many in this forum have confirmed fitting without issues.

Yes indeed they are the stock 265/60R18 tires right now. I am not concerned about the speedometer or handling as it is 100% driven on boring paved country roads (sorry I'm boring like that)
I will go for it and see what happens at the tire shop. It's $450 cheaper to go with the 17's, pretty big diff!
I will update the forum on my findings

I would rather run dedicated winters. The snow drifts can get nasty where I live. Snow tires saved me from an insurance claim/expensive repair last winter...totally worth it for me.

No rubbing 265/70R17 stock
7x7.5 +15mm offset (repurposed 4runner wheels)
It's close, but no rubbing at any angle,
