Dropped the truck off to have this done this morning and got a RX350 as loaner. Nice car with all the new tech but the seat isn't seem as comfortable as the GX.
What happened to the hand/foot brake? Did Lexus go away with it for the RX? I couldn't find it LOL.
I also asked about the GPS update and it's $355. Wow! I will stick with Waze and Google Maps then
Looks nice but too bad I don't like 2-door haha
The loaner. My favorite color.

I got my initial quote via email to parts/service department. When I took vehicle in for update they initially quoted around $350 until I pulled out the email and then they made note on work order to reduce amount. This will be first and last update. It did address a music player browsing issue I was I having

I went and picked up the car about 30min before they close shop and found out that the USB and AUX aren't working. They probably forgot to hook them up when then had the console out. I know that the aux port was working a few days
ago and the usb at least a few weeks ago. The power sock still works (same power source as my web cam).
Also they didn't put the dash back properly as there's a gap where it doesn't snap back in place. I could push it back but I don't want to break the plastic lock. Will bring it back tomorrow.
The gap at the lower dash.

I brought it back to Lexus and it's all fixed now. They popped the side of the console and reconnect the USB/AUX and pop back the dash.
One thing interesting I noticed on the work order print out is "Filled up Gas". I didn't know Lexus do this, or maybe they only fill up gas for major repairs/recalls only but maybe it's worth it to bring it in empty and get a full tank out of it. Mine was full so they didn't add anything, just car wash and the routine 27-points check up.

GX airbag class action lawsuit notice
Received a notice in the mail about Toyota airbag class action lawsuit,
Detailed information available at AutoAirbagSettlement.com,
"
Both sides in the lawsuit agreed to a settlement in order to increase recall completion rates and to avoid the cost and risk of further litigation, with the goal of enhanced customer satisfaction. As a result of the settlement, the Class Members can get the benefits of the settlement and in exchange, Toyota received a release from liability.
"
seems its better to stay with the settlement, as opposed to Opt Out?
Thanks,

I checked my 2014 GX460, its status is also "there is currently no recall" for 2014 GX460,
Lexus dealer is moving slowly through all the affected GX, and 2014 GX460 will be recalled in 2019.
all affected Toyota/Lexus model years are attached.

I posted this in the airbag replacement thread, but am glad you started a new thread.
After carefully reading recall notice, it seems to me that Toyota/Lexus may no longer be on the hook to replace the airbag if one does not exclude themselves from the lawsuit. I write this because the language indicates all other rights are then given up, and I take it that those rights/remedies would be the replacement airbag. However, I don't know if what I perceive is true or not, can can anyone shine more light on this?
In the end, I don't want to harm Lexus/Toyota, I just want Lexus to replace the potentially harmful airbag and provide a loaner if they keep the vehicle more than a day. Additionally, I have not received a recall notice (2011, live in Maryland) I think they the campaign starts in 2019 for my region (?).

deadline of opting out is Sep 2017.
guess airbag cost could be 2k each, replacing all airbags of a car could cost over 10k, wonder if they are really going to replace airbags of all affected cars?

My wife has a 2013 GX460. I received the class action postcard several days ago. Today, I went to AutoAirbagSettlement.com, typed in my vin# and it indicted that we may have a recalled vehicle. It further referred me to https://www.safercar.gov (NHTSA), and that site said our car IS NOT one of the recalled models.
We bought this vehicle used about 6 months ago, so I don't know its previous recall history. We'll be taking her to Dallas in another 15,000 miles for the 75,000 mile service.
Am I correct in assuming that if our vehicle needs airbag repairs, it will be brought to our attention at that time?
