What year to buy???
Hello everyone, I am looking to purchase my first Lexus and have decided I would like to go with the GX as I had looked at the Toyota 4runner first but we all know the GX is far superior. That being said to be within my price range I am looking at used vehicles. What I would like your opinion on it is if it is better to get a 2013 base GX with around 40K miles on it or a 2012 base in the same range or the 2011 premium model with around 35k miles on it. Whatever vehicle I purchase I plan on keeping and running to well over 100k miles. I live in Cleveland Ohio so I do have to deal with salt and snow on the road so I also want to be sure it wont rust out from the environment I live in. I look forward to hearing all your thoughts.

The bones on all 3 are the same from what I know... Unless you don't like the color or interior of the 2011 you'll probably enjoy the premium features
I recently got a 2012 base with 30k miles and a bunch of options and I love it.

The 2012 or 2013 might still have some factory warranty remaining, either basic warranty or powertrain, so that might be worth something. The premium package adds some nice features. If it has levinson that would be a big plus.
However you should save $5,000-$10,000 on a 2011 vs a 2013. I would personally save myself some money and go with the 2011 premium (which I literally just did last week). Likely can't go wrong with any choice, just make sure to check the carfax and service history on each one.

Also I would add, price wise in general it seems the 2013s are not very attractive vs the 2014s (or a brand new truck for that matter). Both retail and wholesale are very strong on 2013s and low mile 2012s.

This 2012-18 Corolla, is the 1.8 as smooth revving as the 2.0 in the all new 2018-24 Corolla?

Been looking for a low mileage Gx 2011 to 2013 , none to be found in Az area , that includes neighboring states using CL .
Low mileage to me means 50K or less

The year difference you are looking at are pretty much same cars with a facelift. It comes down to personal preference and to purchase the best and newest car that you can comfortably afford. Either model you will be happy with. Also you get to enjoy the cheap gas prices right now as these things are thirsty.
A question about the loan, is there even a market for lending for used vehicles with over 100k miles? Very likely it will be either difficult to find a loan or it will need to be done on an exception basis by the lender depending on relationship and compensating factors. It may be easier to pull a little loan on the house that’s not levered. Right now rates are low and there won’t be any fees to it.
