Hi, What is the biggest tire without lifting
Hi guys, I just joined the Lexus family with my GX460. Anybody could conform that what is the biggest tire I can install without rubbing issue if I don't lift the truck and use the stock rims.
Thanks
Thanks

275 and 285 will work according to threads you can find on this site, but you have to heat gun one wheel well screw on each front to avoid noise when turning. I run 275 and can vouch for those.

Thanks for reply. I was thinking to get 275/65/18, but seems somebody believed it is rubbing and some believed it is not. So I am confused. Which screw I should heat gun and does this damage the well? BTW what is the type of your tires? Thanks again.

I have 275 65 18 Duratracs which have a fairly aggressive tread. They rub for sure on a screw located 6 inches inside the wheelwell in the front at about the center of the tire height. It only happens when turning over uneven terrain but is dramatic enough that it has to be addressed. A heat gun and aggressively heating and forcing the screw in works just don't be shy.

The stock rims are only 7.5" wide, so 285 is the limit. But I'd look for an aftermarket 8" wheel with 285s for a better offset and less chance of losing the bead. There is not a lot of all terrain tire options for our 18" wheels.

P rated. Noise has increased now that the tires have ~20k miles but they are by no means loud. I recall the Duratracs feeling a bit more mushy in cornering when I first put them on relative to the stock michelins. Today I don't notice it and find I can corner hard at high speed with confidence and I owe most of that to the air suspension where I set to firm on highway runs.
