Homelink Garage Opener Question
When I had my NX I had the garage door opener programmed and it only took a touch of the button to get it opened. Now I have my GX programmed and no matter how many times I try, I have to press and hold for a few seconds for it to work. Can anyone confirm if that is just how it is with the GX or if I am missing something? Mainly the irritation is that if I'm not careful I end up shifting the mirror then I have to readjust it. Thanks!

I have noticed a slight delay on mine, but about the same as my prior vehicle which was not a Lexus.
Perhaps you could try resetting or erasing the codes at the opener and then reprogram your remote(s). With the newer garage openers having rolling codes this may help.

I have to press and hold on mine as well. On my '15 I usually use my thumb to press the button and then use the rest of my hand to support the mirror so it doesn't move.
I kinda wish lexus didn't move the homelink buttons and kept it on the console instead.

My 2012 GX could program our new Lift Master so the new programming was at least available in 2012. I had no problems with my 2015 as well. My Wife's BMW however is a different story, both her 2012 and 2015 would not program. When the installer went to program our cars after it was installed he was surprised my Lexus worked and the BMW did not. And yes, there is a slight delay when pressing the button to open the door, I usually have to hold it for 2-4 sec. before it works, but it also depends on how close I am to the door.

My 12 GX is the same, have to hold the button for a couple of seconds before it works but in my 14 Stingray it's exactly the same, still have to hold the button for a couple of seconds.

Agreed- I've only had my GX for a few months but I'm still reaching for the console

what year is your GX? the reason I am asking is the home link in our Lexus are different base on the year's of the cars is made, because the 14" and newer are installed the newer version of the home link and it's can be program on any garage openers without using the home link repeater like my 07" IS350 home link opener can not program my new chimelline garage door opener, and my 14" GX could as one touch program, after I swap out my 07" home link opener to the 14" RX mirror with the home link and its took only one time to program

Wow, that would have been sweet! Thanks for the guidance on how to press- I've sort of started doing that now.
