Will MY2016 be the last model year for the 2nd gen GX460?
I have seen a lot of articles that states the 2nd gen GX might be discontinued after MY2016. How likely is this? A lot of talk about a possible Lexus TX unibody replacement. But I have seen no specs, leaks or any details about it.
What are the chances that Lexus might introduce a MY2017 3rd gen GX based on body on frame instead of going uni-body like the rest of it's competitors?

Honestly, my guess is we won't ever see a (true) 3rd gen GX. They might ditch BOF and go unibody in the future and call it a GX, but of course that would just be piggybacking off the brand's goodwill. My guess is we'll probably see a 2017 GX but that very well may be the end. I could also see a 2016, no 2017 at all, and then a unibody 2018 that is called a GX.
The GX sells relatively well and I doubt Lexus is tempted to mess with it too much as long as it remains profitable. The biggest problem I see are the federal regulations that now require all auto manufactures to average 54.5 MPG in EPA testing (not exactly the MPG we all refer to but still very difficult to meet) across all vehicle sales each year by 2025. Beginning MY 2017 the standards start kicking in and ramping up so that's why I could see the model drop entirely for that year.
Who knows though. We may also see a 2025 6th gen BOF GX -- you just never know. My advice? Buy one now and enjoy it.

Will My 2016GX be the last.
Give it a rest! That same question with everyone's opinion was asked on the 2015. Toyota usually keeps a tight lid on what they will do with the next model year. Consumer opinions mean nothing in cases like this.
