Flagship SUV
You have to wonder what this means for the SUV line in Lexus. I cannot imagine another line with the NX/RX/GX/LX already in place. I would imagine a replacement/merge of the GX/LX line is the best bet.
Brief part of article:
Lexus brand is planning to launch a second top-of-the-line "flagship" model to accompany a new generation of its LS sedan, the head of the brand's U.S. operations told Reuters on Wednesday.
"We need a flagship. It doesn't have to be a sedan," Jeff Bracken, Lexus division general manager, told Reuters on the sidelines of an industry conference.
Bracken noted the success of luxury sport utility vehicles such as Tata Motors' (TAMO.NS) Land Rover brand, the Cadillac Escalade from General Motors Co (GM.N) and large SUVs coming from the German luxury automakers.

Lead Lap
The "SX".
I have no idea, just making up the name. I'm going to trademark that now though.

Intermediate
The GX and LX are more "niche" offerings because of the Land Cruiser heritage and truck/off road attributes. Toyota/Lexus is likely looking for a higher volume seller (a la the RX) for the dumbed-down American market needs. My guess I posted in another thread is that it could be based on the Sequoia platform, with all new Lexus stuff for the body and interior, or they would develop an all new platform.

Sounds like two more crossovers coming: one is based on (next) LS, the other is super-nice Highlander/ Stretch-out RX.
Yeah, after driving a luxury SUV, it is very difficult to go back to a sedan.
