Default 2014+ Matching HiBeam with LoBeam

Have anyone find the bulbs for the High Beam on (2014+) to MATCH the low beam LEDs? Please share what you have and how do you like it.

Thanks.

I'm interested as well. I feel like the factory low-beam LEDs are very bright but are aimed a little low to be safe on any dark road.

i think it is aimed little low as well. Do you feel it aimed toward the RIGHT (passenger side) more?

Can it be adjusted?

Low and right would make sense to avoid blinding oncoming traffic. I haven't looked at the adjustment but most headlamps have some measure of adjustability.

I feel the same way about my Low-beam. With such a strong cut off its a bit dark at night right about the line, especially when your off-roading. Im thinking of replacing the high-beams with HIR bulbs. Had them on my GS for years and really enjoyed the output with no ballast or adjustments needed. See below pic of comparison vs stock bulb:

Can you give me more details on those HIR bulbs? I'm running PIAA Xtreme White bulbs and I'm looking for more light output.

Thanks

I'd like to know more about this bulb. What does HIR mean? Hi Intensity Reflector bulb?

Well... HIR stands for Halogen Infrared Reflecting. These were initially designed to be comparative to HID bulbs with significantly lower costs (HID kits were over 1K back then.)

According to some research, it seems Toshiba produced and sold these bulbs till 2009 (explains why they are hard to come by now a days.)

Advantages:
- lower cost
- higher output
- no modification to headlight housing or re-adjustment needed (bulb is the same dimension.

Disadvantages:
- Cost (slightly more expensive than stock)
- Toshiba gave up sometime ago and stopped product development (not readily available.)

I hear Phillips has picked the ball up on this and is now in their 3rd gen line, but I have not tried them.

According to this Vendor :

"IR bulbs were initially designed by GE and produced by Toshiba for automotive use up until 2009. After 2009, they stopped producing them, and Phillips picked up production, making some output improvements in the process. These bulbs are the next best thing to HIDs, and use the same amount of power as your factory Halogens do."

Its seems supply of these bulbs have all but dried up. Might be a good opportunity to test out the Philip HIR bulbs.

Heres some comparison shots done by a customer over at HID planet:

i dont think that bulb will fit in the back of the housing. its too wide. i tried to replace my highs with leds and it stuck out too far in the back.

SO, did the LED work for your Highs? What did you use (brand/model)?

Thanks?

Thats the most confusing part about the GX... LED headlights and tails but the turns signals were apparently too much for them
